  1. last time i went it there was a 12 inch zig rule, as for bait, SAS, B5, and the legendary CM1 (what they dont sell anymore) and dont be fooled by the whole "chuck it in the middle" rule that every1 does, some of the un-numbered pegs are corkers, eg, the pads and nevilles, oh and i know roy dont work there no more so i dont think the cafe is there (could be wrong) top tip if that big mahoosive ridgeback wonders round to your peg trying to skank food.... just give it him !!!!
  2. had a ticket last year, 90% of members can't catch, ignore every1 telling you to use a baitboat, i never had 1 and had a belting 6 months on it, usually ram off it at the weekend, NO 30's contrary to what people say, oh, and a lot of numptys, my pal is the bailiff on there and he reckons 29lb something is the biggest in there, the members who can't catch will leave there pegs and inspect the rigs of the people who can catch, NUMPTYS, on the other hand, it is by far the easiest water to catch 20's, if thats your cup of tea ?
  3. Right then, there are no full tickets left only winter tickets, they are £150, start on the 1st October and finish on the 1st march, gin clear water, an "egg box" bottom with weed gravel and silt, around 120 fish from low doubles to mid 30's, there were 6 30's when I joined and since then I've seen another stocked common push 30 taking the total to 7 30's and while fishing next to the gaffer last week I saw him land another common of 29lb 15oz, so soon to be 8 30's, like legs said in the last week there has been said 29lb common 33lb mirror and 2 days ago a Simmo stocky was landed at 21lb, in my opinion an absolute pukka bit of water and better still only 5 miles from my house lol, I've had 36 fish from 12lb to 19lb and lost 4 in total, not an easy water but I wasn't after an easy water and just trying to target the 30's. The pegs are sweet with enough room to easily get bivvys/brolly's up, The gaffer is Dave and you'll be able to get his number off the site, phone him to arrange a view as there are 2 pad-locked gates to get through www.hamshallfishery.co.uk www.hamshallfishery.co.uk
  4. i just gave up a ticket on penns, apart from having a few numpty's it aint that bad a water, i've had a fair few 20's out of there, mostly just scraping 20 tho, also a common just shy of 27lb which i was told was "the big un" in there, however, the other day a mate who renewed his ticket has now been told there is a mirror bigger than that, loadsa doubles, and quite a few pike too, the bailiff has only just started bailiffing the water as of this year, and unless they had the fence fixed, its down in a few places, pm me if your thinking of joining as i have photos of when it was drained, i got these after my ticket ran outt too ! the tackle what got stolen was in broad daylight too, i was there when it happened, i got a cheaper ticket later on in the year, personally i wouldn't pay 250 for it. oh, 1 last thing, dont even entertain it on the weekend, hope this helps.
  5. so i'm told, the farm holds 40 fish with 4 of em being 30's, last time "rita" came out it was 37lb NOT 39lb like people keep saying, mid week ticket might be worth it, but not for me, too many people are putting me off it, including fosters own staff, £150 mid week, maybe, but is no way worth £300 notes, 1 member told me it hasnt fished the same since it was netted, and this was down to ALL the fish being handled, another bloke who fishes penns told me he had all 4 30's in half hour, because he was there when it was netted and apparantly had pictures took with all 4 30's, 2 acres means any more than 4 anglers and its pointless setting up, no cover from trees as its in a field, and i didnt think the pegs were too clever either. So....hams hall has more 30's and is a bigger pool, and another thing to think about, is that fosters dont own the farm or the fish in it, geoff hemus does, who also has another water of his own, and had the farm netted to take 20 fish out and put into his pool, which left the stock level at 40 fish, and if he's done it before, there's a chance he could do it again, and i also dont like the fact that geoff and foster let there friends fish it on the regular and they wont have paid £300 like you will, and i hear the bailiff fishes it 2 nights a week too so that would leave room for only 3 more anglers, basically, its a 2 acre hole in the ground with 40 fish in, if thats your cup of tea, then crack on m8, i will be going hamms hall personally, everything i've heard about the farm has come from fosters staff and farm members, one last thing, 1 of the members i spoke is a good angler and he took 6 fish in 1 year out the farm and apparently he done really well, i work that out to £50 a fish !
  6. just found out we can only fish the back pool with "the big uns in it" if we renew our memberships for 210 quid, i would much rather have my 40 quid back please, oh and instead of taking half the stock out to grow them on, the bailiff has got the gaffer to spend 3 grand on 11 new fish, the bailiff reckons the 11 new fish go from 14lb to 21lb, so according to him there are now 1011 fish in the water, having done my last nite on there last friday, i'm convinced i saw an OTTER, and when they netted the back pool we saw a fish carcus to big to have been had by a heron, its fair to say that the bailiff has ruined the water all because he has not a clue on how to run a fishery, ah well, you live and learn, everydays a schoolday !
  7. Ian, i'm stuck between hams hall and fosters "the farm" i went down hams hall a couple of weeks ago and spoke to Dave, he and 2 others were workin on the water, which in my limited experience is a good thing (meadows springs to mind), fence up so fish cant escape, and 300 notes, its the same for the farm, but after speaking to a couple of farm members who swapped there tickets for winter tickets on penns, i dont think i'll be entertaining the farm, so Dave, hopefully i'll see u soon, with my reddies, at the ready !
  8. one of the back pools was netted today by 4 guys from rodbaston college, what a waste of time and money that was ! the bailiff reckons he seen a fair few 20's n 30's in there and when they finished netting it, all they had was a stickleback and half a paving slab !, DO NOT LISTEN TO A WORD THE BAILIFF SAYS, we were also told the water is closed for the month of march, because of this the bailiff said we were able to fish one of the other pools, with "big fish" in it, when i asked how come they werent netting that 1st they said "because of all the snags"..... So its ok to fish it with all the snag's in and possibly lose fish to said snags. ever heard the term "could'nt organise getting drunk in a brewery". That is well and truly the case here, DO NOT JOIN THIS WATER. the bailiff is able to fish any of these pits for free and chooses to go to earlswood reservoir, that alone says enuff. last year there was blue/green algea ALL ROUND THE POOL, they got some fishery management lads down to sort it, they both knew that the owner and bailiff didn't have a clue, SO PUT AN AIR-A-TER IN THE POOL IN SEPTEMBER, AND STARTED PUMPING WATER OUT THE CANEL INTO THE POOL, this caused an unbelievable weed problem, how convenient for the fishery management lads had a "weed harvester", looks like they will be back in summer ! just 1 more thing to prove they havent got a clue, THE POOL THEY NETTED TODAY WAS NEVER, YES NEVER, STOCKED WITH ANY FISH anyone who says there happy with the water is blatently some kind of numpty, then again, they all seen the ad for it in quality baits, lmao
  9. yeah i paid a tenner to join then 15 quid to do a night, what a waste of money that was, i should have just done what EVERYONE else does and NOT PAID. all i had to do was avoid the club house, the water is not bailiffed AT ALL, i've never seen so many numptys round 1 water in all my time carp fishing. and yeah 6 lads next to me, only 1 had paid, they got loud and then decided to light a bonfire right next to the water which ruined the margin fishin for every1 within 5-6 pegs either side. then there friends turned up to join em on the [censored] ! Nigel, i take it that you know people can get on your water from the bottom end of the pool somewhere, a big bloody fence might help you out there, maybe then the night fishing will be secure, i'd even go as far as to put a big, "NO DOGS", sign up as at least 8 out of 10 dogs walked round the lake go for your bait, and under that i'd also have a "NO HORSES" sign too. but hey you done well out of me, £25 i spent, i will not be going back.
  10. 50 fish in 5 years out of shard end...well done m8, i was down kingshurst a couple of times last year, not fishing myself but a few friends were, there was always other people on there and for some reason every1 was blanking ? my friends were doin nights on there, 1 mornin they woke up and seen someone in a dingy, rowing out to the island to nick eggs ? naturally they started throwing stones at the person doing it, that alone tells me the eastern europeans have had the fish out and are looking on there next meal, eggs ! there is an old saying you've probaly heard m8, " if u wanna catch a kingshurst carp, go fish shard end lake !" just out of interest, what you had out of kinghurst ? any lumps ?
  11. i have a few friends who fish Beaver Pool in water orton (back of the scrap yard) it is syndicate but i dont think they even bother with it anymore due to fish theft ! which is a shame cos i think its a lovely bit of water, not really bailffed that well tbh.
  12. don't bother with babbs mill in kinghurst as i hear people are taking the fish out and putting them in shard end, i live local to shard end and wouldn't fish it, it also lost a lot of fish when it flooded, and personally, i like my tackle so i wouldn't go there unless there was a few of you !
