  1. Lake Boga i saw fish cruising on here i just could not buy a bite.
  2. Lake Boga last time i fished it. Does anyone know the potential of this lake. Send to my messages if so.
  3. Beautiful proportioned carp just like the old wildies that used to be in the u.k.
  4. One of a few pegs that are open to fish for carp on this section of the mitchell other than using a boat.
  5. Carp from Mitchell to show the potential in the past. This wasn one of 5 doubles in a row, fishing bread on the surface.
  6. They"re amazing looking carp and great photos. Is there chance of a night assaualt on the water? Photo of fishing mitchell from up high the water is 6 feet below or more the limit to my australian net.
  7. A fish from the mitchell from an extremely steep peg crampons on etc. 11.01lbs beautiful bronze colour, these fish were hard to catch as there is no where near as many a round any more and they fight like tigers.
  8. Out and to the left is bay about 100acres+ where i am pretty sure reading his articels and book. Is where tony davis patrick stalked and had fish to 17lbs in the spring time when the fish were up there to spawn. I had no fish from this area, there was alot of carp dead a round the edge so the potential is there. I guess like everything time is needed on big lakes like this.
  9. Lake wellington with areas like this and a good wind on you need a bait to bait up with.
  10. Baiting up very close up on the island on lake gutheridge. Not the best of pegs. Loads of snags on this side of the island and stuggles for runs at times ie to many fish this side it pays not be lazy!
  11. I think would you have fairly balanced gear and a fare bit of practice the distance will come. When i did alot of spodding back in the 90's i think a weight inside the spod similar in weight to the particles i was using and go out and practice different casting techniques. I read somewhere is carpworld or online about using the pendilum cast and that would lock the rod up more or put more bend in the rod before casting.
  12. It is bucket between the legs sometimes. Or i use a dou8ble kayake and put all the stuff in the front. 100 yards + sometimes dependant, i try to keep the distance down, as sometimes i have put baits out and had instant runs or messing about and wound in a 2lbs carp annoying sometimes. Like tench 2 in the moring back home trting to plug your bait off.
  13. Would there be any room in it for bait though! It would create a big crater for a new lake!
  14. 7lbs carp from lake gutheridge the best i could catch for 4 months of effort.
  15. Baiting up with a kayake is the best for super long range and accuracy.
  16. Lake gutheridge unhooking a small fish.
  17. A picture of lake wellington and the scale of one small bay, which makes finding a big carp a real head banger! [/url]
  18. Hopefully this will work to download photos onto here this should be my best carp from the rivers i have been fishing over the last few months. 12.1lbs part of a 15 carp catch.
  19. The cheapest way is buy a lorry inner tube a life jacket and aset of flippers and swim you8r baits out if safe to do so. They used to do this in the summer on a lake in the U.k and 30's from it. Or buy a cheap inflatable boat to bait up from, but safety has to come first. What kind of range are you fishing or want to fish with your hookbaits or to spod to? I use to put a running lead on the line 2.oz or so do give the rod more bend or lock up before casting and i got more distance for that.
  20. Thats a amazing looking bait rocket, it just needs the launch pad for range and accurancy!
  21. I am defentily inspired, i have had 2 mirrors in the last few weeks. Just small ones 2 to 3lbs. The mitchell use to house some beautiful mirrors and fully scaled up to 15lbs mark, which i saw in the past. Come summer or spring i will have a look in the kayake for signs of carp on the river as this time year hardly anything shows at all. My inspiration sometimes is the chasing giants i think the title is right by Tony Davis Patrick, he caught some cracking fish over here. I think like back in the U.k picking a water with the potential for a bigger is the key. I have a river in mind, i just don't have the time to fish it at the moment. But i'll get on there come spring
  22. A twenty is a decent fish unless you have a lake full of them, which i don't i must add. I would like to think the Nichelson or the Tambo would produce fish of that quality i am sure they are some where, you just cannot see the fish it really is fishing into the unknown, with alot of boats to boot. I am trieing to get some photos on not that i have caught that big of fish yet. A double figured mirror is my target at the moment there is a few out there in the rivers, just a lot of commons as well.
  23. Has any one ideas on baiting methods to sort out better fish. I know or have read tony miles articles on chub and barbel in the u.k and fred wilton baiting pyramid theory on Savay. I just don't know with the amount of smaller fish if it would work. ie keep the bait going over along period of time in the hope that the bigger carp will push the smaller carp out over time for the competition for food. I had success on the rivers for bigger chub on the rivers back home and some success for carp in the past. Any ideas would be appreaciated? Or i guess i just have to wait for the brighter days and go and stalk the fish with the polaroids on.
