  1. Heard some of the lakes weren't that safe anymore ? is that true ? as few of the waters looked quite good.
  2. Old post I know but anyone fished combley? It still unfishable as stated above?
  3. Anyone know if there's any carping anywhere near Munich? have tried to look for info on carping in Germany but not much on it or it's all hushed!
  4. any chance i can get my hands on that pm too?! have been on a sussex syndicate/private lake quest for a while now and interested to know what its like down pompy way. hope your well and the fishing's good.
  5. ps know about worthing pisc, but know you need to be recommended or know someone in it, and local clubs billingshurst/pulborough etc but, without trying to sound like an idiot, after a water with something larger than the odd low 20 in & possibly even a toilet ! sorry, had to edit for swearing - even using an * for a letter still counts. NW
  6. Hi, after spending the last few years getting back into carping and now officially being obsessed again, im looking for some new waters to try out. Have fished Tanyards alot, love it for location, peace & quiet, but can be hit & miss with fishing and other people on the lake. Joined wintons before really knowing much about it's background, but still may go play with the cats on the odd occasion, and may join white cottage for the winter, but from days spent trawling the net and asking everyone i know who fish's / owns a tackle shops i keep hitting brick walls. Yes there is the furnace, strawberry fields, menards, frant, elphicks etc but most have a slight foreign feel to them and are clicky & just not what im looking for when fishing ! tiny lakes, crammed, anyone allowed to fish regardless of age/respect they have for the lake etc Have found a few syndicates, westhampnett in chi, which would be good if i wasnt an imomniac and it wasnt next to a main road & on a power boat lake, park syndicate but that's a little far & have found very little info on it. I don't expect anyone to just let me into a little secret lake (tho hope i may) but maybe there are a few round here that are not fished to death or are private or syndicate i don't know about? any suggestions at all would be appreciated. don't mind paying decent money for a decent lake, but needs to be nearish (within a few hrs) to sussex,am in worthing myself. needs to have some nice fish in & allow nights - feel free to pm me if you'd rather not publicise any waters. Thanks alot Reuben
  7. Hello people, am off to visit a mate in oz next year who has just moved to varsity lakes, does anyone know whats in them ? im not even sure if they are freshwater as very close to the shoreline. any info would be much appreciated.
  8. hi, i am just wondering weather anyone is fishing there at the moment? am thinking of going to speci 1 or 3 next week & was interested if anyone knew where the fish were coming out from in speci 3? and the cats as well i know alot came out last month just not sure where from. thanks for any help.
  9. i drew a pic of the lake but only have Powerpoint on here and cant upload it on there (bored at work)- its pretty much the worst picture i have ever drawn tho so maybe its for the best. one other thing i would say is speak to steve the Balif there. really nice bloke will tell u whats come out of what lake lately and where from. the lake's do take it in turn sometimes to go on the feed so go with the advice u get! reuben.
  10. if u do a search on here for tanyards i have written loads about it in the past, 5,6,and 7 - lake 5 is a nice lake to fish, best spots are fishing off the little island/point which sticks out into the lake, into the pads there to the right from there is a good spot. favoured spots tho are around the back of the lake, the swim with the pads to the right of it when u look face the lake from the back, and also the swim in the corner with all the snags in, looks a horrible swim to fish and you'd probably have to be pretty tight on your rods but last time i fished there a guy cleaned up in that swim, its just on the left as you walk towards the point. don't overlook the little weedy lake that's still joined (other side of the point) to the mail lake, don't think its themost prolific part but its where the 30 come's from more than anywhere else. lake 6- swims to right normally, one's by cattle gate. have not fished this lake but fish come out all over it really. last time i was down there someone had 3 30's in the space of about 5 hours on homemade bolies. (had the same fish twice tho, within about an hour of catching it before!) lake 3 is a nice lake and u get the cats in there too, popular swims are the roadside ones, with the one down where u park your car/turn around one of the best swims fishing out to the island. also round the back u have option of fishing to pads or fishing to the snags in the corner by the water inlet.cat's are known to hold up round those snags but sod fishing for cats in snags!. lots of people obviously fish off the point too as it has acess to alot of the lake. one thing about all 3 i would always say is do NOT avoid the margins. i have had almost all my fish from tanyards no more than 15 foot from my rods and no more than a foot or 2 from the bank.fish to reeds fish to pads. try natural baits up there and don't go heaping loads of bait in. natural bed's (not huge) work quite well. hemp/particles etc. i have never had much luck there with bolies tho i think most of the fish do come out on them. bread if the ducks aren't about, can get quite good results off the surface.
  11. as far as protecting yourself? that i cant help with,i now sleep tooled up which i hate having to do,peacefull night on the banks all im after. you can get motion sensor alarms that u put outside your tent which will alert you but i would expect they would probably go off all night and not be very good, could always attatch your pod etc to some line and a bite alarm incase someone tries to nick your stuff while your sleeping or tie your pod etc to one of those rape alarms where u have to pull a pin out which would scream off if they didnt see it,but apart from that not really mate, would just suggest fishing lakes that are locked up but like u said theres a price to pay with that. and if someone does wake u and they are tooled up mate there [censored] all u can do about it !! and as far as your insurance, most companies will not cover it,i work for Norich union so know a little about it,depends on the cover you have and if you have the fishing stuff specified on your insurance. you can buy fishing insurance from a few different companies, but mine was like £200 to insure for the year so a little unsure about getting that but its the only way to have peace of mind on the bank, that way if someone nicks it while sleeping you get it paid for again or if someone wakes u and threatens u you can let it go knowing you'll get new gear
  12. yeh drives me mad mate, all fisheries need to take some serious action, although its mainly on public fisheries but something needs to be done,i aint small by any means go gym 5days a week and box twice a week but i still get paranoid on the bank at night specially on public waters, cant do alot about a bat round the head or someone wealding a knife!! its well out of control the tackle theft from carpers.4 of the waters nearest to me are all "take your chances" waters so i have no choice but to go and stump up like £25+ for 24hrs on a decently run lake.
  13. agreed! these people aint right in the head,as bad as mugging someone on the street or walking into thier home and stealing from them.cant belive u openly admit your uncle's a thieving twat!
  14. nice,so your uncle's a thieving tackle stealing pikie bastad? nice mate. gotta love people who steal people's gear, nice one mate.
  15. what ????????????? your uncle vic's a pikie who hit u over the head?
  16. might have to take on the mighty chi pits as a summer quest! although i dont fancy my first summer back a summer of blanks!
  17. says on the multi-map description big lake is ivy...... Vinnetrow ivy Whyke North (north south & east all same lake just different areas) whyke presume the map is up to date/correct?? would hope so!
  18. yeh i am tempted! always tenpted to fish over there but dont like having to sleep tooled up! like to feel at least resonably safe when fishing!!
  19. i stand corrected.we had a big argument on here before about there being a 50 in there! all the locals and everyone that actually knew the place all said its sh!t and some guy who claimed to have fished it for years said its absolute ass,he agreed there are 40's in there but not 50's. and terry hearn? on a pikey haven like chichester pits?????
  20. yeh there aint no 50 in there, like i said its myth, although someone on here was adament about it,said they got a leaflet from the shop on site itself claiming to have a 50 in there! know theres at least 1 40.
  21. not sure if its the A27 mate, useless with rpads but yeh u see them from the motorway,if your driving from chicester -> brighton way then they are on your right,on your left towards chichester, theres a caravan park there too, lots of big lakes.main one being vinnetrow which they have the sailing/canooeing on. on the other side of the road is another big lake with again decent carp to 40+,used to know a guy called deano who fished there, well of him,and its a hard hard water full of sunken trees and other such delights.
  22. not when u see the water its not. big lakes, not alot of fish, lots of snags/weed and just notoriously hard/slow fishing.
  23. no idea mate aint fished there for a long time. apparently they are "sorting" the lakes,or some of the lakes, including re-stocking swim building and security measures but what they have done i dont know.its southern leisure i think that runs the lake but im not 100% mate, may be best to just go down have a wander round and ask at the shop there, theres a tackle shop there u get tickets from. this is a link to fisheries in sussex think it has something bout chi pits on there. -------->sussex lakes and this was from a search i did : Southern Leisure Hi Guys ... Reuben - IF you choose to fish @ Southern Leisure the main target lake would be Vinnetrow Lake - that's the one on the left hand side of the approach to the camp site - there is another lake behind it called Runcton - there is the big lake,Ivy (not fished March to October due to boating etc) and about 5 others. Vinnetrow lake is becoming more popular for those who are after poundage and not necessarily a lot of action - some swims are "difficult" and there are hazards to negotiate. My experiences are that the swims need a lot of work on any if not all of the lesser used lakes - climbing a tree looking down onto Runcton it seems the whole of it is a weed bed BUT there is a clear spot on whats known as the gypsy swim (bottom right corner) casting to a clear patch about twenty yards shy of a fallen tree (you can't miss it) which may well be a spot Ivy lake has a 52 in there - Vinnetrow has GOOD carp to about 48 Runcton to 42 and the others all have carp in up to about 30lb Oh and i was there last w/e and was charged £5 per day - but the swims were pretty full (?) not sure about that 52!!!!! think that may be myth.again the tackle shop would know.do a search on here for chichester, pits have been talked about alot before.
