  1. I have often wondered if there are any decent fish in the lake on the NEC, it looks quite "Carpy", is it private ??
  2. Springslade and Hazelslade are 2 differant lakes, I don`t know much about Hazelslade but I used to fish Springslade, it is just off the A34 near the cross roads for Cannock Chase and the Penkridge turn, I have no idea who controlls it now, there where some lovely looking Carp in there to about 24lb and also some Chub which would give you screaming runs and take any size bait you put on, It was a very nice and peaceful lake, round like a Goldfish bowl, as far as I can gather it is not hard to join, Pop into the tackle shop in Penkridge, the guy who runs it is very friendly and helpful, he will put you in touch, I believe Hazelslade is a "just turn up and fish" lake, just ask anyone who is fishing,
  3. Walked around Chasewater quite a few times and only ever found Carp twice, both times at the same place, Down the left hand side at the bottom(Norton side) seen 2 the 1st time I found any, around the 20lb mark and 1 about the same size the second time, I think you would have to spend a lot of time and put in a lot of bait to stand a chance, Still if you are brave have a go>>>>>>>>>>>>
  4. There are some very big lumps(Carp) in there, I have walked along the Norton bank in the summer and seen a few up to and may be above 30+, I think if you wanted to have a go at them you would have to do a lot of home work on the lake and find out where the Carp spend most of the time, it is such a vast water, A very well know angler lives very close to Chasewater in fact his back garden backs onto it and he has told me of the Carp that live in there, Regards Catfish, I have heard whispers about them and as I say it is such a vast water anything is possible, there was once a whisper of record Perch being in there, The res on our club ticket was all talk about big Catfish being in there and not many people took any notice and thought it as being a fishermans tale but the last 12 months has seen v,small Cats being caught so they must have been in there all the time and bred....
