  1. i disagree, the fish are average to good conditioned, i fished there november o8, had 10 fish in 24hrs, smallest 9lb biggest 26lb fully scaled. average size ive found to be around 12-14lb. I like the place, yeah rats are everywhere and get some muppets there but hey..where doesnt, baliffs are bit grumpy but i dont go to catch baliffs..out of 22 fish in 3 visits ive only had 6 single figure fish, only 4 fish have had angler damaged mouths.. not bad for a commercial.
  2. Well when i was there today, i spoke to 2 bike plods, they was unaware of any Legal fishing ban there.. and on sign board at lodge ave/roundhouse entrance amongst graffiti it displays that fishing is a facility of the park, so will use this in my defense l.o.l
  3. Had quick walk around there today, lots of rubbish in the lake.. def gonna give a go this year though... im unsettled and know it could really produce a surprise or two
  4. cheers bill, got a friend just taken up carping, likes idea of sturgeon too. Taking him out first time in couple of weeks so was considering maggits. nice pics, nice fish. whats biggest sturgeon youve had or heard of there pal? thanks again.
  5. thanks buddy, they stopped it years ago because of boating club, boat club owner hated anglers, kinda hope he might of gone. have to have walk around there one day.cheers again.
  6. Used to fish mayesbrook as a kid, back lake(two islands) anyone know if its owned by angling club and if any carp still in there? Can you fish there?
  7. Anyone know more than me on maggits lake? ive fished one night, got plagued with small carp, apparently is some lumps too. Also lost 2 sturgeon, that was autumn, does it fish in winter for sturgeon?
  8. anyone know anything about this venue(syndicate lake) newlands chelmsford?
  9. fair comment, i think it is a bit unfair to totally ban maggots, should be a restriction not ban.. im not a monument regular so cant comment how it used to be.
  10. alot of people having bad views of rob hales success, monument fishery. I paid £500 for week in france just for chance of 50lbr, didnt get one, place looked similiar to monument and was run similiar, no-one minds going france fishing lakes overstocked with massive carp, whats wrong with same thing in uk.?
  11. Well i think all these knots have a place, i have used a modified blood knot for 30 years, if i lose fish its from hook-pulls(not often thankfully), generally i find the cheap lines might not like bloodknots but if your using strong/qaulity line(not braid or flourocarbon) the form of bloodknot i use is good enough to land my quarry, If you prepare properly, and have confidence in what catches you fish...why worry..tight lines chaps.
  12. Hi all im looking for a members water near southend or within say 20 miles, must have atleast one definate 40lbr, somewhere anglers are sociable and not rear-ends would be nice...HELP!!
