  1. Hi Daniel,

    Not really a hard venue but you won't get more than a couple in a day tbh, what works elsewhere should generally work there. Biggest fish are probably low 20's and not very many that size. Floater fishing can work well there if you can avoid the ducks.

  2. You joined at wrong time really as you will have to renew in may. But on that pool by the turf i used to catch between 5-10 carp a day. I just used to pick a spot with marker as its all roughly same depth then put a few spods out and fish both over same area. Then i would top up the swim after each fish. Dont know about this time of yeah but if i was to go i recon spodding maggotts would work well :)
    would agree with you on this one paul but it's been froze over for the last 3 weeks and there has only been three fish pulled out in the last 4 months

    4 Months ?

    I think not, i had a 12lb and my stepson a couple of smaller fish in mid to late November :wink: I have found Turf pretty tough on the occaisions i've fished it during 2008 and certainly wouldn't class it as an easy water, maybe its down to the angling pressure or the up and down weather but a lot of people on there have commented on how tough its been on there.

    Personally i wouldn't even think about spodding thereat the moment, single baits and watching for the showing fish worked for us last time we were there and no one else caught during the couple of sessions we had there in November so we must have done something right.

  3. fished it a few years ago now. Method with mini boilies worked then. Cant see that changing much over the years. Make sure you cast in the same spot though and hold on to your rod or use a baitrunner. If you have a carp rod take that instead of the feeder rod. :D

    I would say the method with mini or standard boilies would be the general method used by a lot of the carpers there the same as drayton and it would be the 1st thing i would try :wink:

  4. It is almost impossible to get onto Belvide trust me Ive tried. Joining Brewood is one thing then getting onto belvide is something else. They dont like carp anglers on belvide full stop.

    Thanks :? Think i'll wait till the spring borrow my dads bird permit (i'll pass for 61 honest) and then go and have a looksey, i may not EVER get to fish for one of the monsters that lurk in there but i can possibly see a few and have a little weep :wink:

  5. Hi all

    After a bit of info, not far from me this place and i know to a few (birdwatchers) who have seen HUGE fish in this water :wink: Just like to know if it is controlled by Brewood anglers and whether it is as difficult as mentioned in other threads i have come across to get into Brewood anglers :)

    Thanks

  6.

    Course I am holding out! :wink::lol::lol::twisted::twisted:

    Grrrr :twisted::twisted:

    Thinking outside the box i have trouble with :lol: Anyway i'm sure you'll reveal all to your beloved forum members soon enough :wink:

    ADDED --- Now i'm thinking a bottom bait on hair the normal way and a popup tied to the curve of the hook towards the point to hold hook off bottom :wink: But hey i know nothing :lol:

  7. Is this a claw rig nick - the same as I always use?

    I can only think that you've got a balanced snowman with half pop-up (facing down) and a tube shaped bottom bait threaded onto the hair lengthways.

    You've done me TBH! :wink::lol: I could see what I've come up with as being harder to blowback- but I'm sure your idea is probably nothig like what I'm imagining - look forward to your return :wink:

    Lets see, from your description, I don't think its the same.

    I know Brian has seen a pic (rig in my hand) and tried tying some up to play with.

    I do know that the first fish I hooked on the rig was landed, and hooked very squarely centre of the bottom lip. Shows that my thinking may well be right on what I'm trying to achieve.

    May only have been another 8lb Common, but its more than has been coming out of the lake recently.

    I'm thinking it could be a dumbell shaped bottom bait topped with a larger popup making it look like a mushroom :?:

    Its caught one so far so it obviously works to an extent, i'm intrigued to actually know exactly what and how it may work :wink: Hope your not still holding out on us :lol:

  8. Got to admit, not sure that carp will be overly interested in singing and dancing mushrooms though :wink:

    :lol::lol:

    Probably not :shock::?

    Gave it its name on how it sits in practice, and what it looks like :wink:

    Well good luck with it anyway, maybe it'll get you that target fish of yours, look forward to the update :wink:
