  1. did a 24 hour session sunday, weather was dire but managed 9 fish. 4 doubles and 5 small 5-8lb er's (which were transfered to the match lake at the owners request ) Biggest was a 16lb 12oz mirror followed by a common and a mirror both at just over 13lb and finally a common of around 12lb.
  2. Hi Shirl, weve spoke on the bank a couple of times, it was my step daughter that was bored!! Congrats on the biggie
  3. The speci lake is the one mate. Meat's always a good bait particularly in the margins, but ive had some good fish there on artificial corn and boilies too.
  4. ive been using enterprizes fake corn recently with success. 1 piece of tutti fruti pop up corn with 2 sinking pieces (The pop up piece last on to the hair) with PVA bags of hemp and red chilli maize for fish up to 14lb when others wernt catching.
  5. yes pretty much, action certainly picked up nicely last night! If the favoured island pegs are gone when you get there (8,9,20,21), try pegs 34 or 35, one rod to the point of the peninsular, and the other rod into the bay off the island to your right....tons of fish holding around there! i think the 4 island pegs in the middle are getting fished a lot and are not very productive at the minute. going again tommorow morning for a 4 hour sesh before work
  6. went back for an evening session today, had 6 fish between 9lb and 14lb
  7. ive fished lakeside many times, very pretty estate lake with 3 islands and numerous lily patches all over. extremely shallow at the car park end around 18 inches, if its cold or overcast when you go head to the far end of the lake wheres its around 6-7ft. if its sunny and hot surface fish any of the pegs at the car park end! good head of fish, lots and lots of upper doubles into high twenties, although its not an easy water. its a big crucian water too! bait wise, boilies definately the way to go, corn and meat around the lily pads....athough they will bolt straight into them when hooked! hope that helps!
  8. fished hollyhurst a few times over the last 2 weeks, had a number of fish up to 15lb still waiting for one of the 20s+ most of my fish have come from either lunchoen meat or corn in the margins, a few fish on boilies in between the islands but deffo a margin water! a good head of tench present as well, averaging around 3-4lb. the lake record of 33lb 4oz has been caught twice in the last 2 weeks both by the same female angler on luncheon meat from peg 21..... night fished it last sunday, the weather made it hard work, with only 1 double through the night....some fish are still spawning so should pick up in the next few weeks. deffo going back again soon.
  9. i fished weston lawns on bank hol monday.....carp were spawning everywhere and just wernt feeding, instead got plagued by the big head of skimmers taking practically any bait i threw out including boilies! at least 15 times i had the alarms go only to strike into another skimmer was at hopesford hall on sunday afternoon, also spawning there too...though a 12lb common off the top prevented a blank. thinking of fishing holyhurst speci lake tommorow as its less than 5 mins from where i live...heard good things about it from a few people now.
