  1. I bought some Drennan Dacron today. Is this the stuff you guys are talking about here? The braid is very soft and flexible, and first impressions are good. Obviously i've got to try it fishing...
  2. Thats interesting I do have access to the fishing along, around the farm on the point. I think thats where you mean. Might have to go and have a better look
  3. Was searching for Information on Staunton Harold resevoir and found this old post. I've got the ticket to fish this water but have heard little about the carp fishing on it. Apparently a lot of bream in but without fishing it I cannot be sure. In terms of carp fishing it, a more difficult water I cannot imagine. Firstly it is massive (200+ acres at a guess), there is no night fishing allowed, only 20-30% of the bank is available to fish, no prebaiting allowed, very active boat club, and no history of carp being caught. Adds up to a tough water to crack and probably a few blanks!
  4. It definately helps having a parent etc when starting out. That said learning from own mistakes/ successes can be a more effective learning tool, given that you wont be affected by anyone elses thoughts. Generally speaking the more time that you can spend at a water/ fishing the quicker you develop your own effective fishing style.
  5. Ive got the Burton mutual ticket so got plenty of waters to go at. Generally fish the gravel pits they control but also some of the smaller lakes when a confidence boost is required. Never tried a Willesley, i'm put of night fishing it because of its proximity to the town centre, and the reputation Ashby has for its nightlife! When you say you don't feel your getting anywhere in terms of carp angling what do you mean? Size of fish, numbers, etc?
  6. I'm from that way on, but probably would not be much help as i've got similar experience to you. Just out of interest what waters do you fish?
  7. Hi guys, There is some good fishing available on the BMAA ticket. I've personally seen 30's come out of two waters, and seen pictures of another from a different water. 666, I think the water your talking about is the one I do most of my fishing on. Xray, in my eyes your money would be better spent on another ticket, not heard much about the stock of catton park but the flooding can be a big problem in that area. hope that helps
  8. Hi this is my first carp.com post!!! I fished in denmark last year, hoping to catch bags of bream. it soon became apparent that the bream hadnt been seen for years. We did find some excellant roach fishing on the river guden around Resenbro which would probably be about an hours drive from u. The sheer number of fish meant that it was reminisent of the River Trent a few years back (according to my Dad!!). Unfortunatley we never heard of any Carp fishing in Denmark. If u were to try I would look towards the south of the country where it borders with Germany, and I believe that travelling to and from germany from denmark is like crossing into Wales here. That may be a decent shout.
