  1. You gotta laugh! otherwise you end up like me crying all the time when I blank.
  2. I did not mean that there are not any fish in the lake bigger than 15lb I mean't that the farmer tells porkie pies about how many fish are in there, he told me that there where about a hundred odd carp and none of them where under 15lb. Which I dont think is even near the truth! I have seen a few big carp and cats come out, but only a few. The farmer aint thick if he tells people how many big fish he has then the more people will fish it. The more money he just sticks in his big fat greedy pockets. This time next year he will have a metal track going around the lakes so his mum can sit in the back of a rolls royce and go around collecting your hard earned cash.. she wont even have to pull the throttle on her brand new quad bike cash collecting machine. Am I starting to sound a bit bitter? Spicy
  3. I would be the worst person to ask for tips about weeley, I think I have the greatest PB of blanks at weeley of all time! Spicy
  4. If it turns out like the othernight we all had, I dont think it will matter where it is.....I dont know about you Gaz but I had a whale of a time laughing and chatting with you guys. You cant sign a someone in on a ticket and night fish with caps, so where else can we go? Spicy
  5. I only just caught up and read all the last few pages, I up for a social! If it's at weeley I will prove there are under 15lb fish in there coz I will catch one. I'm sure I have got some photos of the fish I have had out of the preditor lake. The farmer told me that when he netted it last he took out hundreds of little carp. Spicy
  6. Right hands up who really beleives that there is not a fish under 15lb in the preditor lake at weeley??? My biggest is 14lb but I am the first to addmit that I am rubbish. I have caught loads of little carp from that lake and made sure that they ended up in the match lake next to it. Spicy
  7. That is a big fat porky pie that the farmer keeps telling everyone, my biggest fish from there was bang on 14lb and I have had about 30 odd carp between 8lb and 1lb, caught on maize. Spicy
  8. I went to Bov 1 for the bank holiday Monday, Not even a sniff of a line bite or a nice sreaming run...In fact there was about 7 other fisherman there and nobody caught a thing. So at half 2pm we packed up and went less than a mile away to a day ticket water, 5 quid for 1 rod... We spent till 8pm fishing there and had some lovely fish (carp) the biggest was a double, we had a great time!! We caught about 15 odd fish each! Spicy
  9. Yer I understand what you mean...Why take fishing so seriously that it effects your ability to be civil to your fellow fisherman...Those lads over at Bov need reminding its a sport. The strange thing is the guy that cast right over our swims was after tench...I think!
  10. I was going to try and get the photo of the breakfast on here! But before that....The dinner the night before; You cooked steak, boiled potatoes and carrots. But I did thing the flowers and the candles where just a little bit over the top! Breakfast was 3 sausages loads of bacon beans and an egg, u even had brown sauce. Spicy
  11. A very big thank you to fellow carp.com members x2gsd and gazmeesh, for taking me on a 24 hr session over a olivers lake, I had such a laugh with you guys. gazmesh...your massive cat fish was amazing....and just when I thought I was going to blank again, I managed a lovely 9lb ghost carp just as we was packing up! Please, please, please lets do it again soon!! Spicy
  12. We got to Bov 2 at 12.00 noon on wednesday and on thursday late morning a guy turned up in on of the car park swims to our left and just cast straight across my swim and my mate next to me, infact he went way over half way across the lake....He had a big silver van which was playing music quite loud on it's radio, he's phone rang so many times and when he chatted on it for ages it sounded like that bloke on TV with the nokia ring tone that shouts "Hello". And he had the nerve to keep giving me dirty looks. If it had of been a day ticket water, he would have ended up swimming in the lake. These old boys that think they own the place dont half make me laugh, In fact I do feel sorry for them.....Just remember boys and girls that Fishing is a sport not a fashion statement. All you chav, tackle tarts out there, be warned. Spicy
  13. How did you get on at weeley? Sorry I could not make it, I was on Bovington 2 for a 30 hour session. The carp where spawning and crashing and showing like mad but just not feeding. I was warned about the CAPS lakes and about some fishermen that dont like new people, well they were right....As we walked around the first lake I said "HI" to two blokes and they just looked down there nose's at us and blanked us and most of all the other guys there were the same. Only one young lad came up to me and asked how I was doing and had a quick chat. I feel sorry for people like that and I am glad that i can just have a little laugh at them about it and it dont bother me! Spicy
  14. PM me next time your going and I will try to pop over for a cuppa.
  15. Well I said that I would not do it again but...yesterday I went to weeley preditor lake for the night, 2 rods, no fish, but caught a duck. I think somebody is removing carp from the lake, but so nobody notices they replace it with about 20 ducks. Spicy.
  16. Are you getting excited yet, I bet you cant wait? Have fun. Spicy
  17. I also am totally fed up with weeley I fished the preditor lake all last summer and nearly all winter, I put some serious amount of hours on the bank day and night. I what have I had out of there? One 14lb carp and a 8lb cat fish in all that time and it's not just me, I have talked to so many other fishermen that have spent day after night after day there and just blanked. Ok there have been a very few semi decent carp out, But for the amount of cash it costs to fish there and the amount of time it takes to catch one, I think we were the mugs to pay that farmer all that money. I think that if you worked out the odds, you probaly have more chance of winning the lotto of getting run down by a bus than catch a fish over 20lb out of weeley, err I mean blank. Spicy
  18. Well Dangerman you seemed to have had a good days fishing, well done.
  19. Hello m8 and welcome to this forum. You will find there are many very helpful members that are willing to help you out with any answer's to your fishing questions, they really are a friendly lot. I went to a CAPS lake over at Tiptree today and fished with 2 members from this forum, Who I had never met before and I had a blinding day and a good laugh!! Please let me know how you get on at the A12 lake, I have never been there before and have often wondered what it's like there? spicy
  20. Cheers lads, cant wait till sunday...wanna go now! I'm like a big kid at Christmas. spicy
  21. I might try and pop over and see you at weeley quickly on Saturday, what time are you going? If I dont get time, I really hope you catch something? But not a cold! Spicy
  22. I was planning to go to weeley yesterday, but changed my mind at the last second and went to Rayne lodge near Braintree. I arrived there about 1pm and it was pouring down with rain, I had a good walk around the lake and chatted to a couple of old boys fishing there. I got my bivvy set up and 2 rods in the water, I had nothing for ages...I tried boiles, soft pellets, sweet corn, maggots then at half 4 I stuck a small bunch of lobs on a hair rig.... and almost straight away a 4lb common. I packed up at 8am this morning, having caught 3 lovely tench and 12 carp the biggest one was 10lb 10. One of the carp had a massive fan tail and big fins, I have never seen one like this before? Dispite the bad weather, I had a really good night. I am so glad that I did not waste my time and money at weeley or as I now calling it BLANK. Spicy
  23. Oh my god, I seriously thought that somebody would have caught even a half decent fish out of the predator lake by now, How hard has it got to get, for 2 guys with 3 rods each to blank for 24 hours. Thats some hard fishing, it's not even cold now! Either the farmer is telling porky pies about there being about 100 odd carp in there and not one of them under 15lb or they all have been abducted by fish loving aliens. Instead of spending more money making the lake a different shape , I think the farmer needs to put some of the massive wedge of cash he has made back into some serious carp stock. Just with my mate,my little brother and myself we must have spent about 250 quid between us fishing there last year. If anyone reading this has had a 15lb or over carp out of this lake please let me know what bait and type of rig you was using please. Spicy
  24. I know that there are some big fish in weeley but the predator lake has no bars or pits, it just 5 to 6 foot every where and boring. I dont think it was very well thought out when it was made, 2 little islands in the middle are not much of a feature. I would think that if we had a really really cold spell they might loss fish because its just not deep enough. They could also do with putting in some swims because in the summer when more people are fishing you get people casting harf way across the lake in all sorts of directions, it will cause problems i think? I heard that its going to get changed this year and have a boot leg on the bottom corner of the lake that will be deeper, but the reason for doing this is because it is leaking quite badly in that corner. Every time I go to weeley predator lake I tell myself I am going to catch a big one this time, but always seem to end up blanking. I have spent quite abit of cash on all sorts of boilies and stuff, but think I shall wait a few weeks yet to give them a try...It is supposed to get really cold this week. Now i've had my little rant, I feel much better now. Spicy
  25. Wow are you in for some fun!! I am currently looking to book a week at dream lakes, but I have a friend that has been there several times and he has told me that he had very good results from there own DL pellets and crumb mix also sweet or fruity boilies work very well. On lake two pegs 17 and 30 brought very good results for him, fishing off the bottom with a lead core and quite a big lead weight/ size 6 or 8 hooks and at that time of year you dont have to fish very far out. Dont forget to ask the baliffs out there as they will have much to tell of where to fish and what works best. Good luck and tight lines Spicy
