  1. Although I have not fished the lake but fished Mehdi's other one across the road 2 years ago in march I had a walk around it.

Most of the fish were taken at range to small amounts of bait. Mehdi stocks Quest bait and a lot goes in during the season and I would suggest you try that bait initially. Contact Bridget at Anglinglines for Mehdi's email address and he will be able to give you more info.

  2. Most lake owners stock a bait which is popular and that they can make money on. I fish a lot in france and have used premier in the past but now use Quest Rhaja spice or Irish Cream. If the lake has a freezer take the fresh baits if not take the lightly preserved ones.

  3. I have found that a running lead with a large ring swivel (Korda) provides better indication and also not to use any form of fly back or back lead. Open water with little weed fishing try Drennan double strength and weedy areas Trilene Xl are both excellent hook links.

  4. The safest rigs are running rigs with a barbless hook.

    For ease use:

    Korda running rig

Korda safe zone leader (or wychwood )

    Nash fang barbless hook

Braid or mono hooklink material of your choice.

    Lead of choice (not in-line)

You cannot get much safer than that unless you freeline baits:)
