  1. I have found that a running lead with a large ring swivel (Korda) provides better indication and also not to use any form of fly back or back lead. Open water with little weed fishing try Drennan double strength and weedy areas Trilene Xl are both excellent hook links.
  2. Also have a look at the ESP clip. Discharges very well (use the pin provided to secure the swivel). As the clip does not have any grooves the lead will always come off if snagged.
  3. Carp R Us Centurions are Ashima 887. They just rebrand them.
  4. This will start you off : http://www.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=22185
  5. If it's a loop to your swivel or Korda clip just use a simple figure of eight knot............simple, neat and reliable.
  6. Don't have this problem with ESP big T raptors
  7. The Gardner threader will work with tubing but not at 3 ft as its too short. All you can do is to get some stiff mono or wire and attach the braid to one end and pull the Mono/wire through.
  8. I would not drop past the size 10 hook. I use the mag-aligner with 1 rubber grub on the bend and 2 fresh maggots. As far as PVA is concerned the micromesh versions in 4 season are best (I use the Korda large stocking) and fill with a mix of live and dead maggots.
  9. I used IQ 15lb for hook links over my last 2 sessions with no problems. Main line was 15lb Sensor and as they allowed them , Wychwood clear looped leaders.

    epoxy

I work with epoxys. As long as the resin has cured for 7 days at 20 degrees it will be inert.
  11. If you have a cloudy water then it does not really matter. If you want to go for a stiffer rig then use mono or more supple use braid.
  12. The safest rigs are running rigs with a barbless hook. For ease use: Korda running rig Korda safe zone leader (or wychwood ) Nash fang barbless hook Braid or mono hooklink material of your choice. Lead of choice (not in-line) You cannot get much safer than that unless you freeline baits:)
  13. The best knot for lead core or nylon type loop leaders is the figure of eight loop as two strands of mainline link to the leader.
  14. I normally never use barbless paterns but did so recently in France. I used Nash fang b's and uni's and found them very sharp (both were size 6). Also I used Owner barbless which were excellent.
  15. Owner hooks all the way Elmo
