If barford has worked on the lake it can only be nothing short of spectacular. Those down there at barford will always have my vote of confidence, if anyone knows how to manage a lake its them guys. Thats really good to hear.

I know this thread is old now but just found it. There are plenty of carp in the Wensum but the best place in my experience is either New Mills Yard if u have a boat, or anywhere near Wensum park. Ask around the park for the stretch called the swans nest, you shouldnt go far wrong there but as said be carefull at night and dont go alone coz theres been 1 or 2 phone muggings around that area. Ive fished it many of times and had some nice fish in there. Some good bream and tench there aswell if anyones interested

At the moment I'm using the Gardner Supa-Shrink Tube in small (1.5mm) size that shrinks to 0.5mm (3:1 ratio) and it retains its bend pretty well even after a fish. It costs around £1.99 for about 6 or 7 lengths.

I personally use a spare pole fishing bung. I find it works a treat and u can shrink at all different thickness's using that method.
