  1. The problem was that I was going to be using 4-5 foot hooklengths for floater fishing and wanted to pre tie hairs without having to transport them on the long hooklengths. I have been tying a normal knotless then trapping the end down the shank with shrink tube as beanz suggested. Then using a palomar knot to tie on the eyed hook. Thx for replies.
  2. Thx, got it now. Shrink tubings a good idea, just bought some but havent used it for anything yet. Gonna have plenty of time to tie some rigs with this dismal weather were having.
  3. nm found this thread: http://www.carp.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=8050&highlight=surface+line
  4. Thx. Not sure exactly what you mean though.
  5. Im going to be surface fishing with hair rigged boilies cut down to the shape of chum mixers as recommended by Matt Hayes in this months IYCF. What hooks would you recommend for this setup. I think he suggested Drennan Carbon Specialist Size 12 but I cannot find these in my local tackle shop. I have got some Mustad carp match in size 12 but have no idea if they are suitable.
  6. I'm going to be doing some surface fishing with hair rigged boilies using a 4-5 foot hooklength. I was wondering if anyone had an alternative to the knotless knot as I want to pre tie the hairs without having to transport them with 5 foot hooklengths on.
