The Alamo's the one to go for, plenty of water to go at and some nice features to fish. I have had people coming that far over with bait boats if they see you catch but generaly it's hassle free.

If your'e around the Portmadoc - criccieth area try Eisteddfa fiisheries.

Cheers boys, I have obviously been misled into thinking it is a top lake, sounds a bit dissapointing, I will keep looking
It is a fantastic lake, the size of the carp is unimportant. could'nt think of many other places I would rather while away a couple of days.

I'm booked 2 years in advance all the time on either 15 or 16, I had a good catch off the other bank a couple years ago and have seen peg 14 throw up some very big fish. A big cast helps put fish on the bank at this place.

thanx for the info russell cant wait to go, ive bin going to les quis for the past 10 years but i think it slowing down a bit now. it doesn't seem to be being looked after (fish wise) like it was when it first started. had some big fish out of the long lake thou upto 48lb. have you fished any other decent lakes in france/belgium?
Have a look at this one been going there for a few years now and its spot on.

I was fishing around past the old toilet block on the corner just before you go into the woods, there was a big tree but I think it's been taken down now. There are some bass in there so it's worth taking a small spinning rod.

I fished it in September 2006 had a great week, around 25 carp if I remember right biggest going in the 30's.
Theres some pics from Damvillers on this link. go to all picture and then france.
One thing I would say is because I do all my fishing in silt up here I did the same there and avoided the gravel bars and it worked a treat, single baits. The 2 lads fishing on the gravel had something like 8 carp between them for the week.
The Damvillers pictures are from 0715 with the green bucket in it

Driving in France is easy, I think it's easier than getting around over here. Find some where no more than 2 odd hours off the ferry and give it ago.

I'm sure its the same people, there was a follow up program and they seemed to have settled in well and the water was doing ok

There was a program on sky about the place, NO GOING BACK, 3 or so years ago

The fox ready mades are very easy to pull the hook link off infact to easy if your'e gonna cast them hard, tie a bit of pva tape or string just above the top bead it will stop every thing flying up the lead core on the cast

don't cut the rubber untill you get it in, wet the rubber hold one end tight with your thumb and stretch it untill it pops in to the groove, let it go trim it off and bobs your uncle. That took about a month to master
