what is the best knot to attach the hooklink to swivel etc as i have had a couple of figure eight loops snap on me.

think you may find that it`s more down to how you actually cast try a smooth cast and dab the spool to tighten the line just before it hits the water

try superglueing baits direct to hook then tie on with palomar knots.
