  12. surely if you are botherd about catching the fish what ever rig you use then you will still need to get out of your bivvy un less you can a make a hydrolic striking device and netter:D :D
  13. well well well mr tony there two main factors you should consider when deciding on the lenth of your hooklength (not hooklink) find out the bottom you are fishing on if it is gravel then a shorter hooklenth would proberly be best but in weed then a longer one so your bait will land ligtly on top of the weed hope this helps and you need to adapt to your situation happy fishing turmut:D :D
  14. i feel that you need a bit of gardner subterfuge that is the mutts mate
  15. i posted this thread a while ago and still havent got round to using this rig. i am a bit sceptic on how it works. i would of thought that the fish would have quite a bit of slack from the lead core to the lead and this would make the short hooklenth pointless especially if you have the hooklink about 2 feet above the lead then there would be loads of slack and remove the bolt effect!
  16. yeah i can tie most of those knots (after nights of tedious practice!) thanks i might try either of those techniqes, how much is that braid because my paper round is not the best paying job in the world!
  17. i would like to make my own rigs but when i make them i am never confident they will hold up when a fish is on! does anyone know a good effective hooklenth but easy and reliable??
  18. what bits would you recomend but i dnt want to spend loads!! i need coated braid and hooks tom
  19. yeah will try a stiffer one cos the one i am using is non coated braid i think i am goiing to try experimenting with making my own hooklinks with coated braid!!! thanks
  20. i am using a pre made hooklink cant remember wat make! and my set up is from esp the one that is pre packed with all the bits! tom
  21. yeah but it still seems to tangle as for the time thing i have used a bolt rig with a running rig at the same time on the same spot over a bed of hemp and only caught on the running!!! tom
  22. hi i have tried using semi fixed leads and have vever caught a fish on one, so i have only used running rigs and these tend to get tangled! can anyone tell me why i dont catch on bolt? i have been using a 8 inch hook lench size 8 hook and a 2oz lead. thanks tom
  23. ok thanks mate would you recomend glueing the knot??
  24. hi i was reading advanced carp fishing and thought i would try the chod rig. i know how to make it but im not sure how to attach the lead core to mono? would i tie the main line on to the loop on the lead core? do 9 need to use braid? a little help please! tom
