I use dreenan double strength myself for floater work and hooklink in winter never had a problem with coiling, maybe my saliva is more slick:D Just practice the knot a few times , take time tightening as I said before and lube liberally...... ooh err !!!!!

If line is coiling when you tighten knots you are probably not lubricating them enough, also do not try and tighten too quickly , ensure coils bed down tidily and pull knot together slowly.

When you tie a grinner I prefer to go through the eye of the swivel twice , pull this thight before tying the rest of the knot.

SORTED !!!! did a search , found some Kryston info and diagram of the loop knot , tied , tested, spot on no more fig 8 loop knots fpor me !! :D :D

Trying to make some leaders up with the 22lb Grand max riverge flourocarbon, tried it as reading few back issues of mags it has good reports. I have tried making app 1mtr long leaders tied with a loop knot at each end, lubricated knots, pulled tight carefully ,but when I applied tension from each end to fully bed down and straighten the leader the flourocarbon snapped app 1 inch from one loop on three occasions, I was not using excessive force and am a little concerned as to wether or not to continue using it. Any ideas or feedback greatly appreciated, either on using riverge or another product as I do not want to continue paying the price for pre manufactured leaders, and I like the idea of the flexibility of tyimg my own leaders. Thanx .......

Is there any information as to which flourocarbon has the best all round properties ?. can it be joined satisfactorily to mainline with any other knots than loop to loop. Thanks for the feedback...

what is the prefrred material for leaders , are all flourocarbons the same ?? do not fancy buying 10 or more toi compare. Is it possible to fuse flourocarbon yourself ?? Any advice or details on the best knots and how to tie them. Thanks :)
