  1. I guess its due to crappy ingredients and measuring
  2. Hi All , The beginning of the Week I had this Brainwave The Lake I fish on has an high taste for Corn , But feeding it on the hook seem to get Bream and I'm looking just for the fat margin Carp , So I googled boilies or baits with corn ... Idea being that I make and present a Corn bait in the size of a Boilie to stop smaller mouths , I watched a youtube video on a corn ball and hence I began My magic bait adventure , It looked great before and straight after boiling but less than 24 Hours My bait had cracked on the drying towel and the little baits were solid , A great white couldnt have smashed it The ingredients were these : half a cup of grounded cornflakes , 1 cup of corn flour , 3 slices of bread put in blender , quarter cup of poppy seeds , 1 tin of sweetcorn blended , quart cup of sugar , 2 medium size eggs , added bread crumb , cornflakes , corn flour and poppy seeds to bowl , thoroughly mix , added mushed up blended sweetcorn , mix with fork , Add sugar , Mix with hands and leave to rest for 4 Hours , Get bowl , add eggs , 2 TSP of corn oil , Mix Together , After 4 Hours ... Add half the egg to dry Mix , knead and add the rest of the egg , This is where it went a bit wonky , after the first half egg ... the mix was still wet and I had to add an hand full of corn flour and some cornflakes , All I wanted was a really corny bait ... should I have added the dry to the eggs or are the dry measurements out in some way , This isnt My recipe ... its One I tried off youtube , all measurements are correct and I never missed anything out , Is there a cornier corn bait and is it easy to make ? I know I could go the " real " boilie way but I honestly get lost after 50 / 50 semolina / soya P.s. I boiled for 1 Minute on cork ball and around 2 Minutes on boilies or when at least half were floating ,

Thanks All I'll study more on the mono style hook lengths and maybe make some kind of stick rig then , I just miss the braid and its versatility and presentation

    IQ2

so it changes suppleness when wet , I ask because My mainline is 12lb and that feels more supple , is the IQ2 quite transparent then ... as that would be an advantage , Its just that it feels so rigid , if i hold 4 Inches in My finger then it stays pretty much upright , that to Me isnt going to move around naturally , does that make sense ... maybe its just the fact that its more supple on a 20 - 25 lb mainline as an hook length ?

I bought this line as it stated its supple etc and I can only use mono on My venue , I bought it in 12lb and was quite shocked on this " super soft " being not soft , but quite rigid for an hook length , Am I supposed to do something to it so it gets supple ? this stuff is like rope
  6. My apologies , I just had another look and the pictures do show it as a brolly wrap and then a bivvy style shelter , that looks ideal ... do you know if its easier to assemble and is the shop a reputable one to buy from ? , Thanks
  7. The brolly and wrap sound about right for Me , Am I right in thinking its this style below ? and as usual ... you guys have helped loads , Many Thanks
  8. Thanks for all the replies guys , Yeah the one I had was so light and just rolled over an upright brolly , not much room in it but it worked a treat , Bivvys seem cheap enough so will for sure get One ... can anyone recommend One that is quick and easy to put up please , I've not long had Heart Surgery so cant struggle with it too much , Huge Thanks again
  9. Thanks so much for the info , I cant actually return it , ( long story , ) ... I do long Day sessions ( dawn until dusk , ) but never Night fishing , I honestly thought there would have been a wrap that you throw over it and peg it down , but looking on google I cant find any , Years ago thats what you could buy for all sizes of brollys , I'll probably end up buying a cheap bivvie I guess , Many Thanks
  10. arrr right , the idiot in the shop told Me it was to let the wind pass through lol ... thanks for the heads up , I dont use a pole but glad I can get a wrap ... I'll go check google again and many thanks
  11. Do you have any links Snoozer please , I have looked but find it pretty confusing , Must be My age , Thanks
  12. Hi Ian , The brand is Maver and I've just took a few pictures to show the outlay of it , I probably didnt need to show these ... but just in case it helps , Many Thanks ,
  13. Hi Guys , I just bought a 50 inch brolly and wondered if anyone could point Me to a wrap or bivvy that would fit to it , Maybe theres no such thing anymore but a few decades ago they were available , Thanks
  14. Many thanks guys , I did cut the ring off and it worked well , I didnt catch but it presented the boilie nicely
  15. Hi , Well I made My first " Ronnie " ready for Tomorrow , will make more later but wanted to check if I did it right , have bait floss ready for boile too , My main concern was if the hook bead was at the right position , Many Thanks all
  16. Thanks Chill , I'm going to the tackle shop Today and have made a list of stuff I'll need with your Idea's I'll stick a picture up in the next 2 Days to show you the rig outcome , Thanks so much
  17. by the way ... will the floro act the same way as braid ? I feel the whole rig will lift up in a weird way ?
  18. I did query this and the owner said its both , He said it " saws " into there mouth , I tried explaining to him that nowadays braid is much better but he's having non of it , Hes retired and uses a pole so probably thinks that Todays braid is the same as it ever was , Also when you mention the figure of 8 loop rig ... do you mean like they do in a stiff hinge rig ? and thanks for your help
  19. Actually ... how would ronnie work without braid , braid is banned on the lake so I can only use mono , My main line is 12lb gardner pro but do have other Mono's to use as hook link
  20. Many thanks all , Its an old method that I used Decades ago but it did tangle unless you carefully placed it out in the margins , I'm booked at the lake Tuesday and think I'll go for the inline , flat and about half ounce , with at least a foot hook link ( I'll feel comfortable with the silt that way , ) , Also ... can I fish a ronnie in silt ? , I never see it mentioned for that type of lake bed , Thanks so much again for all your help
  21. sorry for the awful sketch , I was using a mouse to write and draw , it was just to show what I meant on the running rig I was going to do ... and I need tubing for the lead mono length and probably part of the hook length and just before it , theres probably a better way but havent found one yet
  22. I'll look for that ... the reason I kinda got the swivel thing messed up is that on the lake I'm fishing you cant use bolt rigs and braid , and its very silty , so I was looking at using a light lead on a long mono length connected to a running bead , but without some kind of tubing on it ... its going to tangle , Thanks for the number , that will help a lot That looks very tidy ... are them line stops on the hook ? I have no idea what a ronnie is lol ( I've been away from carping for over 20 Years , )
  23. Hi Greekskii , Thanks for the reply , I'll try Bank Tackle ... they seem a good store on ebay , I guess when thinking about it you wouldnt shrink tube the swivel , no idea why I thought that
  24. Hi All , I cant find any info on google about tubing etc , If I have a size 8 swivel then what size in mm would I get in anti tangle tubing ? Also what size in Shrink tube ? Do I have to measure the width of the swivel ? Any help would be appreciated
  25. I'm in the midst of learning anti tangle , ( got tubing etc , ) but it dont seem easy on a free running rig compared to a bolt rig
