somewhere to fish near southend for 2010?

looking to fish somewhere regually near southend in 2010 and really want to have a good year as this year was very disapointing fishing for me. dont get to fish much but am going to fish a lot more regually in 2010 so want somewhere where i can get to know the lake (and hopefully the fish). any ideas would be much appreciated. oh and merry xmas.
