cal35 Posted April 1, 2009 Report Posted April 1, 2009 my sister is dragging me to a guinea pig show near fareham. however my mum is being very nice and saying that me and my dad can stay for a little bit then go fishing near fareham! i was just wondering if anyone knew any good places, on a day ticket where we would get a bend in the rod? i looked on the portsmouth angling website and they have some but wasnt sure if i could get day tickets for them? cheers! pompeycarpaddict Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 hi mate funtley is a good place available on day ticket but you need to buy from tackle shop before you go and some areas can be a bit snaggy but it a great place to fish Quote
cal35 Posted April 2, 2009 Author Report Posted April 2, 2009 cheers for the reply mate ! also wondering what tackle shop it is to get the ticket and how much? also any good baits that i should be trying- ledger or float and baits? cheers! Quote
pompeycarpaddict Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 hansfords, rovers tackle in fareham, daves in gosport but all tackle shops around the area should sell them, think there £7,bait wise spam worls well, pop ups, bottom baits basically all baits and both float and ledger are good but in parts its very deep so most ledger Quote
cal35 Posted April 2, 2009 Author Report Posted April 2, 2009 thanks for all the adviec mate, now lets hope it works ! Quote
carpymark Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 try carrow row mate, but need to get a ticket from hansfords.they are well stocked ,lakes, and are in titchfield.also about 2 mins away is river farm, which is a day ticket and you can night fish there too.just pay the man when you get there theres some nice fish in there too Quote
cal35 Posted April 5, 2009 Author Report Posted April 5, 2009 cheers for the reply mate, a bit late now ! ended up going to Funtley todat, wat a let down! confident to start with and then as nothing happened for longer and longer, then when i started talking to a regular and he told me that it was almost cetain i wasnt going to catch anything as it is a hard water it was even worse! carpymark Posted April 6, 2009 Report Posted April 6, 2009 what a shame mate.i fished it about 4 weeks ago,and only caught a few.i found that single hook baits work well, bright pop ups, balenced with fake corn, with a small pva bag works great!! carrow row is a little bit easier, but dont give up on funtley, its a great water Quote
