icemaster Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 cheers for that kev,i did look at them but wasnt much info on the fishing i booked paradise lakes outside york instead but thanks anyways Hi there. Have fished it a couple of times, there are two ponds on the complex, one for residents and the other for day ticket. There is a good mix of fish in the ponds, carp, orf and silvers, claims to be 20lb + carp, but doesn't say which pond. Nice venue/complex and the owner is a decent guy, the baliff on the other hand, well I'll leave that up to you. Quote
kilty55 Posted January 5, 2009 Author Report Posted January 5, 2009 aye looked good as a good selection of fish,,orfe, crucians, tench, silvers, rudd etc,,im not a big fish tarteter so a small fishery with plenty choice of species was what i was wanting im assuming by your comment the balliff leaves a lot to be desired? lol Quote
kevingoulding Posted January 5, 2009 Report Posted January 5, 2009 glad to help out they are both good places to fish ! enjoy i was born and lived in york so no the area Quote

tenchslime1 Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 I would stick with Lonsdale, I'm going again this year in March which is the early in the year for me but is the only time I can afford it now Have a good time wherever you go though Quote
tenchslime1 Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 Just found this place which looks nice. www.levenparklake.co.uk Anyone with any info? Cheers Lee Quote
kilty55 Posted January 9, 2009 Author Report Posted January 9, 2009 hi tench slime..leven park looks good but ive never fished it,,in regards to lonsdale,,hmm what can i say really ive fished it over the years and although its a nice place and decent fishing my last few visits have been less than enjoyable lets just say.it just isnt the same as it used to be,,way overpriced as well im afraid for what it is.so im looking to try somewhere new, cheers though for advice mate Quote
tenchslime1 Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 I'm hearing more people dis-heartend with Lonsdale park all the time, guess I will see in March when I go, will be a real shame as I've got some great memories of the place. kilty55 Posted January 9, 2009 Author Report Posted January 9, 2009 hiya tenchslime,,that fishery looks quite good i may well try it out some time have you fished it? i agree r.e lonsdlae its a magical place/venue with great memories for me also but i cant pretend its the same as it used to be...the fishing has changed thats for sure,i mean im not wanting to catch a carp a cast but on the other hand i dont reaaly want to pay 700 pound to fish it for a week and catch hundreds of silvers you know what i mean? i trie in feb and march last year as it was only time i could afford as its so expensive but i must admit i had an awful time,,1 fish caught all week and only 2 other anglers,,its so hot and cold lonsdlae due to it being so north i just dont reckon its worth it going in march mate but thats just my opinion, paul certainly cares for his fish but i feel they have lost interest in the customer relations side of things and are now just tryin to get as much cash out of you as possible and giving you as little as possible back so im afraid i shall not return.pity as a great place Quote
