matthewsmith Posted September 9, 2008 Report Share Posted September 9, 2008 Hi all, just started to carp fish and have been to taswood lakes twice over the past couple of weeks and fished the spring lake (not one of their carp lakes) but a lake that i have been told has carp to 20lb, just wanted to know if anyone can confirm this or knows someone who has caught from this lake. i have had up to 9lb and it seems like a perfect starter lake for me to learn the trade so to speak ! any advice would be greatly recieved ! thanks Matt Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've certaintly seen a guy float fishing with a John Wilson Specialist rod, catch a very nice "Mid-Double" on Swim Stim Green Hook Pellet. I stopped to chat to the guy because I recognised the rod, as I have a pair of them myself, it's while I/We were chatting that he caught the Mirror. Superb rods BTW, 11ft 1.25lb "Avon" rods really, excellent for close in work. Not that it really matters, but he was fishing on the last swim on the right, along the narrow bit that separates Spring from Heron (just at the point you turn Left to follow the "Far" bank on Heron).
