how long is the hook length? I usually use 10ft, it drifts back a bit but thats to be expected.

Its normal to have to reel a bit of slack in to get the hookbait further from the float.

Simple is best mate!

just use a decent surface controller threaded onto the line, a rubber bead then the longest hooklength you can get away with casting! usually about 8lb mono.

knotless knot method is best so you can thread baits onto the hair. connect the hooklink to mainline using swivel

prob best to match hook size to bait size, size 8-10 are ok for most

hope this helps

if you grease up the line inbetween the float and your hook bait the line shuld float on top of the water so that it doesnt sink and make your hookbait drift to you float. i know u can buy some sort of grease for this but im not sure where you can get this but this shuld help:D also you can buy floating casting putty which will stop ur line sinking and wont drift so near you float if u put it inbetween your float and hookbait:D
