tenburybull
Hi all, just a quick question. I've only ever used rigs that i have bought from my local tackle shop, and a few off ebay. Would it be possible for someone to show me how to tie a basic hair rig, so i can start to experiment a little bit. Hooks? Braids? (knots) etc. Cheers Pete. Ps could someone offer an explanation why some waters ban the use of braided hook links, cheers.
crayonhussy
have a look at the stickys at the top of the main page of UK rig tying. Shows you with a diagram how to tie it https://forum.carp.com/carp-forum/viewtopic.php?t=22185
tigernuttom
i think waters ban braided hooklinks because some of the hooklinks (sinklink in particular) are very thin for the breaking strain, and in the longer lengths can cuase damage to the fish's flanks if your not careful. apart from that i dont really know why but anything to protect the fish has to be a good thing tiger
