beatty88
Hey I've done a couple of days at Sam's lakes on the top lake as that's meant to be where the 20lb+ carp are at and when I walk around the lake and have spoken to other anglers there they are saying its just a rumour but it's possible and that there are no pictures of anyone with a 20+ from there. So I was wondering if there is anyone on here that has fished there or know of someone who has fished there? Sorry if this is in the wrong forum area. inhiding
I have never fished there but have just spent some hours searching on the web for new waters to try out and head corms not tooooo far from me ... Any chance you could do a review type thing on the water ... Particularly if it's a night fishing venue Anyway that's my selfish post for the day I think I shall go to bed now Ta
beatty88
I have never fished there but have just spent some hours searching on the web for new waters to try out and head corms not tooooo far from me ... Any chance you could do a review type thing on the water ... Particularly if it's a night fishing venue Anyway that's my selfish post for the day I think I shall go to bed now Ta lol well i don't know if you find prices online but for a day fishing its £9 for max of 3 rods. and the day ticket is from 7:00 to 7:00 but i always get there about 5:00 - 5:30 make most out of the money, i'v not done the night down there yet but i hear its £20 which personally is quiet abit for a nights fishing. If your fishing for carp i would say go for top lake as there is ment to bigger ones in there up to 27lb i think it is (not seen a pic of it though so could be just rumours to bring the customers in.) It is easy fishing there when i was using boilies i was usualy getting a run every 30 - 40 mins alot of them was 5lb - 10lb and this rod was casted into the middle. On the 2nd rod about 2 - 3pm ish i thought i would try something different and put a lump of Red leicester cheese and alot of the time while i was putting my bobbins on i would get a run which they were all small to so i decided as the cheese was working i broke a bit of size of a 25mm boilie roughly and about 20 mins later had a screeming run and it was a 14lb common. I haven't marker rod it yet and to be honest i dont think i will as im not to sure if there is big fish in there but i'm joining a syndicate in the area which is known to have a 30lb+. When i get the time i will copy a pic of the top lake and mark on it where i was and where i casted out and where some other fish i saw get caught were. Hope this Helps Kieran

beatty88
Cheers for the information Kieran No problem any time Well this is the picture of Sams lake (The Top Lake) The black dot was where i was set up, the blue dot is where i had my lump of cheese and got my 14lb and the red dot was where i was using my boilies. I went for the red dot cause there was fish rolling so that was an obvious place and i wanted my other rod where the fish would likely be to get away from other anglers so i casted my cheese out onto the blue dot as it seemed harder for most anglers to get into. I would like to marker rod that U Bend there as i reckon thats a gold mine there for carp. Hope the picture helps a bit. Kieran

inhiding
Spoke to the lake today, nice sounding guy, witha view to popping down for an overnighter in the next month or so ( work permitting ) was thinking of trying for a mid week as I expect a load of bait gets chucked in over the weekend, I like the fact that it's limited to 4 anglers per night and by booking only, the pricing is a little steep but if you get your timing right you can get bet part of 36 hours for 21 quid so with a but of careful sheduling it's not too bad. Just seen in another thread that there has been some recent thefts at mid kent ... Anything like that go on at sam's to anyone's knowledge ? beatty88
Thats handy to know about the 36 hours as i didnt know that, and to be honest i havent heard of theft but no matter where you go theres always going to be someone who does something like that. inhiding
Just got back ... Me and mate had a great time, slightly put off when we got there and found a load of planks shouting and on one occasion jumping in the lake ... Although the owner promptly gave them marching orders when people complained. In total between us had over 50 fish !! In 26 hours, half of these were in the last 8 hours off the surface. The guy who runs the place seems friendly but I suspect doesn't tolerate fools. The fish sent huge but the lakes only been going for 8 years and fish top out at 20 ish Most of ours were 8-13 neck of the woods all very scrappy and in good nick ( aside from one with an old hook through his jaw jamed against the bone ( removed and treated ) All in all a good fun runs water and a nice change of pace from the normal syndy. Oh and the lions and tigers are cool.
Lee4
I’ve fished this lake for 15 years and still haven’t seen anyone pull out a 20 in all that time I believe they are there but there is so many tiny fish you have more chance of winning the lottery than catching one and now he is charging £25 for 24 hours I won’t be fishing it any longer
