howsey16 Posted June 15, 2011 Report Posted June 15, 2011 Hello by the way, this is my first post. I joined a while back but never really used the site. i have been getting into carp fishing now for the past 3 years but only seriously this year so am still quite amateur. I am going to be tackling stubbs hall in doncaster for the first time this weekend, friday afternoon for 24hours, with a friend and was wondering if anyone has any recent 'inside' info. Been reading up that Trigga and Source boilies are doing well but not sure how long ago that info was posted. Anyway, bye for now Quote
carpdudesteve Posted June 16, 2011 Report Posted June 16, 2011 Hi,this is also my first post.I wondered if anyone on here fished this place.Last year I fished here quite a lot, blanked a few times but had some good days too, namely 16 carp in a day session last autumn and 11 the week after using peanuts over a bed of prepared seeds. Now for the worst part, the place is an absolute disgrace....toilets you wouldn't dare go in,most of the pegs have collapsed into the water, uneven road around the lake(lost my exhaust early this year) overcrowded, loud music, drunken behaviour, motorbike noise from nearby fields, weed smoking and fires....need I go on.do yourself a favour mate and find somewhere else to fish.also heard rumours that some european chaps had been removing loads of carp for the dinner table,(used to be a runs water by all accounts, not any more) Quote
howsey16 Posted June 28, 2011 Author Report Posted June 28, 2011 after just a 1 night session it wasnt too bad but by the sounds i think we may have dropped on a quite night. spoke to a few people who said there was a lot of tackle robbing during the night and one fella said that he is trying to build a house just over the field and the yobbos keep breaking and entering and trashing the place. sounds like the surrounding area is very nice! hmmmm!! Me and 2 mates went and thought it was very nice though. nice setting and pieceful apart from the odd train. i will be going again thats for sure. untill i see unpleasantness for myself i will keep going. I personally didnt catch anything, but 2 mates caught a 8lb common (really nice fish) and a couple of small bream. there were people fishing up to the islands when we arrived so couldnt get up to them and they were catching quite a few, so lesson learnt....... fish the islands next time.
