The lake starts off at a foot deep at roadside and dam end 8 to 9 foot. one side of the lake gentle slope into depth otherside of the lake straight into a good depth of water.have caught a crusion out of their 4lb plus have had 6 carp from 16lb to 21lb, very few carp in lake that are origonals as i know of some wally that started putting in smaler fish but managed to stop him as threatoned him with the law. have fished many lakes over the years over 40 and have caugh many many good fish but shillinglee has got to be the hardest not for the faint hearted as seen many suposedly good anglers come and go. their other lake is deff worth fishing for carp but not on weekends as it very match orintated and have had many good carp out of their between 10lb and 17lb hope this is of some help to you have you fished it yet tight lines, naturals
