I am going to join Blackfords AC this year, going to have a go at all there pools. Just wondering what people think of them before I get a permit.

do they owm the big sand pit by the orbital du you know i seen some good 30s in ther 2 of them in the margins

That's the pools they have got, there are two pools behind the orbital retail park. Do you know the name of the "big sand pit" one it might be worth a look.

Anyone got an opinion on Blackfords AC? Buying a permit next weekend so....

They are a match oriented club so tend to overstock their lakes which rather restricts the size potential of their fish. But it is very well run club and they don't treat carp anglers as second class citizens like a lot of match clubs.

 

They would get a thumbs up from me.

Hi, My Names Dave and Im on the Board at Blackfords. We Have 4 pools. Check out our website. Calf heath Resevoir has loads of carp in - in some opinions too many. The other 3 have undergone over many years selective stocking and the one mentioned above (gravel pit by the orbital) is being very carefully stocked to produce some really big fish. We put in about 150 beautiful strain mirrors which went in at 5lb and are now coming out at mid-doubles and are absolute corkers. Like I say check out the website - type blackfords angling in google. Also at £20 per rod for four pools I can honestly say it is one of if not the best value ticket in the country!
