  1. there is a locked gate to get down the left hand side which has been cut off a few times so they can break in to the builders merchants behind, but i havent been down there for over a year so they may have added some more security to combat this, there is also a field gate about 4ft high which is locked on the side you can drive in,i havent fished tiddenfoot but know plenty that have theres some nice fish to be had but as its open to the public you do get your usual herberts down there and plenty off dog mess.

im a member of dunstable ac,they have a nice lake on houghton road carp to 30lb cats to just over 40lb and most species, great bunch down there and fairly cheap membership but there may be a waiting list,or you have jones pit (cemex) or vauxhalls woburn, not fished any of mk's waters but have heard of alot of tackle thefts in the area

  2. kryston heavy metal for me tried the dark matter absolute pants

Have you noticed that since they've done rig putty all the Korda chaps really rate "putting a massive blob of putty" on their hooklengths to "pull it down into the carps mouth".

For me- Putty has always been about finesse and balance in a discrete way. If you want a massive blob- use a shot.

yea thats probably why they all need 3.5lb tc rods :lol:
  3. cheers nevs,i see what you mean now,so would you suggest i would have more or less success with a snowman rig rather than just a single pop-up?I do appreciate all your help mate :D
i couldnt possibly say you would have more success but its just what i have confidence in,i just cant get my head round pop ups really i prefer to have something on the lake bed with my freebies, pop ups do have there place as hundreds of anglers will tell you but i guess its a case of each to there own,i think carp have trouble ejecting a snowman aswell
  4. personally i dont use pop ups much at all,and would definately not use them over gravel and probably not over silt as carp dont mind digging in up to there gills so they could miss a bait popped up,if i had to choose one rig for all situations it would be some form of snowman

  5. its worth a try mate ive had good success using stick mixes,a solid pva bag is also a good approach,if your fishing the harder gravel spots i would keep rigs quite short about 3-4 inches.also the kd rig isnt great if theres to much weed because of the way it sits, hope this helps these are just things ive picked up in my own fishing im far from being an expert and im sure some lads would do it differant, just keep trying things till you find something that works and try to keep it simple :D
