Thank you for taking the time to answer, I have fished swims 1 and 6 in the last few weeks at first light and landed 1 tench each time both around the 5lb mark. One was caught at 6am the other at 8am although I did stay and fish well into the day both times catching some nice silver fish. I will hopefully get there again soon before the weather starts turning cooler. Thanks again for the reply regards mark

Hi guys What a very interesting thread, I know it was a while back but i hope you are all still around. I joined fms this year and have enjoyed catching lots of carp at thwaite and hill farm despite the cold weather and had a walk around bosmere last night as i prefer more established lakes. My favorite fish are tench and I wondered if these too have suffered along with the carp and also if any of you more experianced guys could give me tips on how to catch them there and how to fish in the silty conditions. Hoping to chat to some of you on the bank this year . regards mark
