  1. Fish the open water mate, and the margins, ignore all obvious features as they get hammered!

Just looking back at my log book

I've had 43 fish in the last 8 sessions on there,

I had the big common on Christmas eve out of there down the margin

  2. I live across the road from it mate,

It's not reay worth fishing tbh, 1 30 that comes out like 8 times a year and maybe a handfull of 20s ! The car park is safe and te locals will be fine with you, you wot have no probs!

The lamb own it but it is also day ticket get a lamb ticket and you can night fish on there!

    Cheers

    Joe

  3. Nick, firstly I find that very hard to believe as I've never experienced or been involved in a conversation saying that leadcore kinks and traps bead, you must have a very strange casting method.

Secondly, the leadcore laying flat bit.............it depends on the lakebed and tubing doesn't exactly pin to the bottom either, with the added disadvantage of the capability to hold air.

I feel exactly the same as you... No one i know has ever had any problems with it!

  4. I use korda bags with leadcore, never had a problem.

And therein lie 2 problems in themselves :twisted::lol:

The use of leadcore in carp fishing and then the use of that name of manufacturer :P:twisted::twisted:

    Leadcore:

I used the "it won't work with leadcore" as there is absolutely no safe reason to use leadcore as a leader in carp fishing

Why not? If used in the wrong hands it can be dangerous but so can everything... Tubing.. Leaders etc.....

I use it and know alot of people that use it and have had no problems so i dont really think you can say that...

I know from reading your posts that you personally dont agree with using it and thats fair enough but its clear from what other people have said that they are just jumping on the "bandwagon" and agreeing with you. ?

  5. I'm with you!!

It is absolutely lovely, we stayed too for 4 nights. Was tougher fishing than we expected, but that's the way it goes, and we caught plenty so were well happy. Accommodation and the owners were lovely too.

What time of year did you go? Wish we had gone in a warmer month, but hey ho.

I went around june time... I had i think it was about 18 fish with 3 of them being 20s. 26, 24 and 21.....

  6. if you mean the pool just round corner by fazely its called meadows fishery and is syndicate but only about 15 fish over 15lb and 750 6-8lbs,it has got a web site with some info £250 a year,my mate joined it and doesn't go anymore because fish are so small,i fished it as guest couple of times only had 4fish all under 8lb

    15 fish over 15lb. ?

There 25 20s in there mate.

Quite a fair number above 15lb also.

theres 1050 fish in there and the average is around 8-12lb.

  7. theres loads in there,,,but 90% are typical tame valley fish, all mid double commons..theres the odd better fish, but nothing spectacular, and certainly no "right lumps",big scales the biggest and shes come out at 27 a couple of weeks back

Theres alot of them "commons" but i still wouldnt say theres LOADS in there...

You know i dont fish it but i'd say a fish a session is doing well ?

  8. Theres loads of carp of all sizes in burrowpit you can walk accross them in the summer months :D

Have'nt fished it for a while if you planning to fish it soon you better hurry before the rain starts it often floods this time of year.

It has great rewards for those who stick with it :D

If you join the Lamb you can night fish it, they also have many other waters with carp.

    Loads of carp..

    Can walk across them..

    How longs a while?

  9. I believe that mainline straight through only helps to keep your rig less visible to the fish. As long as you fish slack and your lines are tight to the bottom mainline is very hard to see and you may find that a leader is easier to see! May I ask why you are using a leader?

safezone leaders are designed to prevent harm to the fish once hooked, mainline without tubing (in certain situations like the line being wrapped around the carp) will take scales off of a carp and damage the fish, braided mainline would probably cut a carp in half

    fish saftey is upmost

    if your inexperiencced.

  10. I'm fishing it on Sunday with Dad. Due to him not being able to walk we're on pegs 1 and 2. I'm thinking bait wise groundbait with sweetcorn, maize, pellets, and meat, with possibly a scopex boilie and worm on the hook. Does anyone think this will work. Any advise for these pegs would be well received... :?:

    Pellets are banned mate.

Fish worms on all 3! u wont go wrong!
