Lionheart Lakes. On September 19th I took the wife on a weeks fishing trip to Lionheart Lakes, the lake is situated near Piegut Pluviers, a short distance south west of Limoges, the accommodation is a lovely lakeside gite that sleep four with all mod cons, including English TV, quite safe to take the wife along. The lake is about 2 acres in size, with a small island at one end. Several swims are situated around the lake. The fishing was good we caught a total of 21 carp ranging from 14lb to 24lb,most fish were in the 20lb region all caught on boilies, there are fish up to 40lb in the lake, which we intend catching on our next visit There is a great market in Piegut Pluviers about a 7 minute drive away,which is well worth a visit , a medical centre and restaurants can also be found there. Colin(Homer) the lake manager is very helpful and only a phone call away should you have any problems.

This is our second visit to Wally’s this year, a lovely eleven acre French lake. As usual the bivvies were up and all equipment that we had requested was in place, the weather was changeable, and we had to work hard to attract the carp. After about 3 hours the alarm screamed and I was in to 29lb 7oz mirror, the fish was in perfect condition. My wife Pam soon struck into a 24lb Mirror, another lovely carp. We caught a total of 27 fish the largest being 29lb 7oz . Most were caught using stringers and ocean fresh sweet banana boilies. Our line was15lb Berkley Trilene big game, and size 6 micro barb hooks. Jan & Wally made our stay comfortable and enjoyable, and nothing was to much trouble for them, this is a venue that we will continue to return to.
