I havnt been to Bayliss pools for many years. Is access to the pool still poor? Does it still contain those big ghosties? Does it still attract the idiots who think its ok to cast lines into your space? Does it still contain a good head of 20s?

I spent 2 yrs on the A.R.C. lake(mallard) and only ever caught 2 bream although they were 14lbs plus. They are very difficult to track down i spent time with some excellent bream anglers targeting these fish and suffered endless blanks its not for the faint hearted. Bluebell lake is a better bet if you after a double but the shoals are massive and can eat a mountain of bait the average is about 7lbs. We used to fish pegs 1 to 5 on bluebell and once they were on the bait take up to 15 fish a day on groundbait feeders and yellow plastic corn

Stanwick lakes worth a try either Mallard or swan if you fancy something a little harder try Elsons.Easy to find on the A45

Should imagine there are a few big female pike in Trentham munching there way through the vast stocks of bream that inhabit the lake

chod rigs are not a new idea they were known as silt rigs in the past and were designed so that when the lead buried into silt the hook and bait didnt. The idea is to have a distance between the lead and hooklink which is short and stiff,it has excellent hooking properties. If your unsure what substrate your fishing over then its a good rig to use as your hook bait should be fishing effectivly. A short popup straight off the lead if you know what bottom you fishing over is ok but if you in weed or silt then your rig could dissappear. You could be sitting there for hours with a rig buried

Northants and Cambs are riddled with pits some are the best fishing holes in the country lie within there boundries. Then theres the Nene which holds a lot of large carp.Suggest you visit local tackle shops for imformation. Then theres the obvious place off the A605 in Tansor always worth a visit

I took out a membership few months ago just as the speci lake shut up shop.Ive only took 4 fish out and try to get over there once a week for the day.Its a small lake and been told it gets very busy during the summer and they only allow 6 anglers per night, you have to prebook too. The match lake is also very quiet they have a silverfish contest on there every sunday and last weekend no one caught a fish.I fished it on a maggot feeder and couldnt buy a bite its very hard going when you cant get a take on maggot. I should imagine problems occuring during the summer months on the specimen lake with anglers casting lines over each other as there could be over 50 lines in the water at a time.Been told as well its peggy as the best swims are along the trout bank Best thing for me its local

I spernt 3 yrs on bluebell lakes,2 of those yrs were on the ARC as a member before tony made it a day ticket water. Its a beautiful fishery well maintained and access is very good. Bluebell lake is advertised as a coarse fishery but still holds several 30s and lots of back up 20s as well as very big tench and bream. Ok i agree its an expensive place to visit but if your looking for that special fish whatever species that may be id recommend it.Benson and the Creature may have gone but there are still some serious lumps swimming in the lakes

bayliss pools were the first place i caught a 20lb carp but its a shame it attracts so many idiots. My partner and i were threatened by a group of youths when i dared to tell them that they had cast there lines over my partners lines. We packed up and left minutes later when they started firing boilies at us we were very scared and have never been back

ive been using triggerlink this weekend as part of a combi link with esp sinklink and a size 8 korda curve barbless hook.I thought it would help my ratio of hook ups as the carp i fish for have very soft mouths and hook pulls are frequent. The jury is still out i cant make my mind up does any one have experience of this material?
