Hi guys. Being fortunate enough to live in the Mayenne region of France, life just gets better being a Bailiff of two carp lakes.
I decided on an over-nighter before the start of our busy season, with the temperature just teetering at 0 deg. After setting up three rods all baited up with Cell boilies over fresh sweetcorn, pellet and partimix, I sat back and waited.
After just 30 minutes I banked a stunning 41 lb Mirror, a great start. Fish number two came just 15 minutes later weighing in at 31 lb, again a nice Mirror. Three hours later and a 33 lb Mirror graced the bank, wow, a great start to the season. I then managed to catch a fish which I last banked in October 2013, " single scale " ,a lovely 44.8 Mirror, exactly the same weight as
I settled down in the bivvy and tried to keep warm. A quiet night, until 4 a.m and no 1 rod screamed away. The mist was so thick I couldn't see past the rod tip. Finally, the fish slipped over the rim of the net, and only then did I see the fish for the first time.......oower...first session of the year and I clocked up a P.B. with a 51 lb Common. A truly stunning fish. A great session with five fish to over 201 lb
