No PM here mate

sorry mate, I haven't been able to get onto the net to see this post recently, did anything get arranged or have I missed it?
-
well i never even thought about checking the canal out by tusses for carp before I lived round the back of the minors arms for 7 years so if you guys are still up for it I would defo be there for a session
how about the longford engine for a pub?
-
worth going mate, I personally like the place the fish in there speci water fight VERY hard and provide great sport.
-
Clarke G-line (used to be Silstar) 7.9lb (0.20) or 10.lb (0.22)
Berkley trilene- 4lb (0.23 but breaks just over 8lb with good knots (self tested) so its stronger than the 8 and 10lb silstar which can halve in bs on certain knots and looses round 30-40% of its bs on average)
I find that the Drennan double strength is too thick for its breaking strain with poor knot strength but then again with every aspect of fishing its what you get used to and what you have confidence in
i might try some of the G-line nice diameter
-
i'm sure you will conquer mate but if you plan on fishing there resgular it may be worth enquiring about becoming a member may save you a few quid good luck with the quest
-
Double strength is good but but change your hooklink on every fish once you have had a fish on it the next one always snaps the hooklink.
-
used to fish it when i was younger and curry flavoured baits used to be the way to go, not sure if they still work but maybe the way to go
-
http://www.stanwicklakesfisheries.com/thelakes.htm try roman lakes not sure if it is with in your 60 miles but its a syndicate lake and under your 300 budget hope this helps
-
I use double pop up sweetcorn on a zig and have had some success on it although it is more affective with a spod mix over the top.
-
oh i see didn't get the context of it at the time
-
lay off the guy there is nothing wrong with someone pushing themselves to beat there PB
people on my local lake ask me how i keep pulling out 20+ fish so regularly the answer is simple enjoy your fishing work hard at your swim and don't be afraid to try something different to the rest! and if a new pb comes along great if not you live to fish another day
-
haha yeah we were in the swim with the picnic table absaloute mare to cast in, yeah same going to fish my local water got a few nights planned there over the next few weeks although i heard the resident 30 came out yesterday so will see what happens hey
-
was that on the roadside bank? i was on the opposite side looked a good lump from where i was about 1:30 i moved up to the last 2 swims on the woodside bank and left about 7:30, only the second time i had been there looks alot better than it did in november lol!
-
yeah me and my mate was fishing them 2 swims sunday afternoon just had a couple of bream
-
you could try weston lawns, don't think you need to book there anymore, most other places you need to pre book and this time of year you need to book quite a few weeks in advance
-
your not wrong mate they were just cruising up and down all day and through the night im going to leave it for a few weeks before i return the place was packed when me and my mate got there at 5:30 sunday morning there as only three swims available
I know mate me and 2 of my mates turned up at about 6:15 and well I was knackered after all the walking trying and trying to get swims which were close to each other and fishable lol! where abouts was you fishing?
-
was there on Sunday and looks as if they are just about to spawn
-
got to admit guys i am real local and think there are alot nicer places to fish around there than makins, can I ask what the appeal of the place is?
-
yeah when I went I asked about a season ticket and she said she prefers it if she sees you there a few times, so think you was just lucky!
-
Nope its none of them these are just off hospital lane in Bedworth, not sure heard theres quite alot of carp in there just nothing of any size
-
I spoke to someone the other week who fishes it regular and by the sounds of it the fish are coming out but having never fished I couldn't tell you much else apart from he used pigeon conditioner hope this helps you out in some way
-
I agree mate the place is stunning yeah it is expensive but everyone i met there have been really helpful and your right the big breakfast is top notch! I also had my pb from there the only fish out on the day so was very happy to be the lucky one for the day lol
