I tend to use 15lb esp soft ghost with a wide gape hook and a soft hair bit of braid or bait floss when u tie the knotless knot whip away from the seam of the hook eye and then whip twice towards the eye stops the knot from moving and has never let me down .

kd rig is the best pop rig i have used the hook holds are ace this weekend i got 6 carp all on the kd and lost one i find a size 8 korda curve hooks are better than a wide gape for this rig
tend to keep my rigs simple braid or mono or combi if i use new rigs my cofidance hits rock bottom till i get a run and my rigs do work so if it ant broke no need to fix
thanks anyway mate
hi what hair length do you use between the hook and bait .last weekend i tried the hair a bit longer and i did catch 25 carp up to 10lb but i had about 8 screaming runs and lifted the rod and it was gone would this have anything to do with a longer hair or was it just bad luck any ideas

if your tying a pop up on u can just use a normal over hand knot or thread it through the boille and melt the tag with a lighter both work well hope this helps

i am more confidant in flourocarbon hook links as braid is prone to tangles i use a 12lb esp soft ghost with a braided hair so the bait still has movement i use this method this week end on a 24 hr session and bagged 25 carp to 10lb 8oz but each anglers methods are diffrent try both to see how you get on silk worm is a good braid or use both as a combi rig .

i use korda flying back leads with a 12-15lb florocarbon leader which sink nicely u can add putty if you like i use running rigs with flying back leads and the bite indication is ace no problems .

i have 1oo% confidance in mono hooklinks i use esp ghost 12lb and the presantaion is ace and it will never tangle on cast un like braid so you know your rig should sit nice on the lake bed i do tend to use a supple braided hair so it gives the bait a bit of movment and have had loads of fish banked useing this set up but location is more important than rigs findin that sweet spot under a tree or margin ect where they feed last weekend i fished a local lake and had 5 carp and 1 bream from the same spot right under a over hanging tree carp up to 11lb all on mono hooklinks with supple hair and my super bait (lunchon meat)

i tend to use silkworm 12lb or esp ghost 12lb with 2" of silkworm as a combi
but i do use a pva stocking some times but when i use a rig with nothing on it tends to tangle round the lead when i reel in .rich
i find by pulling through a closed fist a few times helps and then i pin it in my rig wallet as stright as possible then when you go to use it its dead stright .
