  1. Yeah, this is exactly what I mean - it's the same principal as with pva mesh tubing. I'll just have to try and practice with a cork ball or something. Def want that knot tight-as to the bait... And also, the less knots the better. I think the double overhand idea is great for another thing I've been thinking of - using Armamesh baits with a cork ball inside on a CHOD/Anti-Eject rig. You could tie it straight round the d-ring... Hmm... interesting!
  2. Good answer, will give it a try. Cheers Nick.
  3. Hiya, can anyone suggest a knot, or a way to tie the simple granny knot, so that I can get a nice tight mini-bag using Fox Armamesh. I just can't seem to get my knot flush to the contents of the bag (if you know what i mean). It always seems to sit a few millimetres away from the paste/etc. I've watched the youtube clip, http://youtu.be/DkX6ZoknV6o and at 6:01 he does some ninja-action with his hands, but I cant seem to emulate it. This makes me look thick, but help def needed with this one. Love this product. Shanners. )
  4. Hiya Guys, I'm about to up-sticks and move to West Yorkshire - around Wetherby/ Harrogate area. Does anyone know of any good quality carp fishing venues or clubs? This would be a great help as I don't know the area at all. Best regards, Steve.
  5. Thanks Canon, good info! I used to live near Poynton Pool, and that's exactly the kind of water I'm looking for - but there's nothing local and handy like that around Oldham... Pretty, challenging, not masses of public.... I'll just keep driving back over to Lymm waters for now.
  6. Love this... Not a single post in over a month... I'm screwed then?!
  7. Hiya guys, I'm moving to Oldham and from what I've seen, there is poor fishing to be had... Lots of scallies spitting into the canal etc, and shopping trolleys used as keepnets!? Does anyone know of any good quality carp lakes, pools etc anywhere in this area (basically North east of GManchester). If you can think of any, please let me know and I'll investigate further myself. Just a name and a hint would help. Anywhere around OLDHAM/ ROCHDALE/ HALIFAX etc Best regards, Shanners.
  8. I joined Lymm. Been fishing 3 times and already had a 23lber out. Its fantastic there, and the members are all really helpful.
  9. Hiya fellow carpers, I've been building up my confidence this year and want to join a club with a better chance of chancing 20's and 30's around the north west - any ideas? I was a junior member of Lymm anglers eons ago, so was thinking of returning to them - but there's also SOTAS too which looks superb. Others i've seen are Macclesfield Waltonians, and Altrincham and district but not too sure about any of their waters. Any info or advice on any clubs mentioned, or any others not, would be gratefully recieved! thanks guys.
