Went there back in 2004. Well run, top venue with plenty of big fish to go for but not easy - carp are extremely wary. Fish came out for us at dusk (so make sure you're back from dinner promptly), during the night and first thing.
Each swim produces well and has holding features in front of it. No weed, gravel patches, some big rocks - hence the name of the venue - deep margins and odd patch of light silt.
We had success off the opposite bank (as close as you can get) rather than in open water.
I fished the platform and had fish from in front of boat shed margin opposite, top right corner and from under the house.
Active8 was the going bait when we fished it, although we broke these up and used them in the groundbait and fished small bright pop-ups over the top on the hook - seemed to work very well for us.
Good Luck.
