Really depends on the size of you bait (which will dictate the size of the hair too) and other factors but my personal choices lead me to use size 8 generally.

 

Whats the reason you're buying pre-made?

 

They're so simple to tie, inevitably cheaper overall, you can tweak things like hair length to allow for larger / smaller baits etc etc and much more satisfying to catch on.

 

Just seems a false economy to buy pre-mades

Is that the little lake at the bottom of the dip just passed Brampton Halt?

If so, I fished there (7??)years ago and was nice little water.

 

What sort of stock do you have now? and what do you plan to put in?
