[HELP] Broome Pits - Bungay, Suffolk
carpling replied to carpling's topic in UK Venues and Where to Fish
I fished the B pit for 24 hour sesh. I fished the north swim nearest the main road with an island situted straight ahead of it. There was alot of carp crashing the water at night straight out of me in the clump of weed which i was fishing just to the left to fishing a choddie with a 14mm popped up fluro cell. on The left hand rod a was fishing the multi with a sticky vortex 16mm pop up about 4ft from the island. The right hand rod was fished about 30 yrds out in the right hand margin where carp are often reported patrolling. This was fished on a stiff bottom bait rig with a cell boilie tipped off with a bit of corn and was altered with just a bait stop. Shamefully no action at all the lad that was fishing the other swim from me bagged roughly 5 bream to 4lb. In the morning one of the guys fishing the B pit reported a 12lb, 14lb and 19lb on the steps where ever that is? Through patrolling round the whole lake i noticed that the carp often patrol the little pit to the east around tea time and tend to move towards the west during the night. Any tips or advice would be great everything is right might change a few rigs and baits etc but want to try to stick to the same swim if possible as iv'e put a fair amount of bait in. Just hope the carp bite! -
Just wanting to confirm some information that I found about Broome Pit. Going by some research im looking for the pit that has the best possible chance of producing a 20+. A Pit - 10lb+ Tench and Bream B Pit - Carp to 35lb plenty of 20's Kidney Pit - Carp to 15lb D Pit - 13 Carp stocked all are 20lb+ biggest nearing 39lb Any Advice or baits or rigs and spots would also be appreciated. Also can i fish 3 rods or is it strictly a 2 rod limit? I'm guessing B sounds the best bet but which one is B?

Hello, I'm hoping you guys can help me out here. My son is coming down for the summer for a month and was wondering where is a nice venue to go to? I'm willing to travel a 45min radius from Lowestoft. I have tried fishing Burgh Castle Fishery & Taswood Fishery and are very good lakes. I'm looking for a water that isn't pressured unlike the two listed and especially BCF. I'm looking for a water that isn't pressured and with a bit of patience hopefully a rewarding venue. My son is down for a month and i want a place where bringing out 20lb+ is possible. I know its alot to ask round here Basically after a venue that fishes well for big carp within 45mins of lowestoft. Please help me out guys thanks! P.S. i have been advised to go to the fisheries below: Taswood Lakes Burgh Castle Fishery Waveney Valley Lakes Airfield Lakes

Are the carp in otter water the specimen carp lake used to being fed boilies? not sure but just to confirm heard luncheon meat and boilies are best for the carp. I use chocolate orange & Cell Boilies. Just to confirmation of a few things iv'e heard it's a bit silty hence the choddies. Really just wondering any pegs that do well and do you have to book as i had a look at their face book and said there were only 6 pegs. Thank you very much guys!
-
Wondering how broome was fishing and also if boilies work well in broome. Simple question which hopefully gets answered! Thanks guys
-
yep it probably is, its just me
-
is that the bead on the mainline side and not of the lead side?
-
is this better?
-
thankyou thats what i was looking for! ill update you with the new rig, hold on and some one told me to use tungsten, went to my tackle shop and asked for leadcore he said to use tungsten
-
hey guys, my camera is horrible quality so i just used paint to illustrate what my rig looks like is this made right? i hope

Was wondering if anybody have fished it. Was having a look at avenue angling as i was told there was a tackle shop at the industrial estate. Was planning on fishing broome pits tomoz and was told that it's fishing very well at the min. Along the way I saw a sign to a another fishery and thought i would pop in and had a look. Very well kept, lovley area and very sheltered. The warm sunny evening topped it off while i was having a look around i saw a rabbit. Saw a few swirls, but no carp on the surface. For your information it's £7 for a full day. Was wondering what sizes of fish are in there and if it still fishes well? heres a pic of it to familiarise you where im talking about.
-
haha thats a very good idea! thanks!
-
yep i found this, this should help me a lot hopefully
-
i know it may sound stupid but how would i find out how weedy or silty it is so i can be accurate on how to present my bait i just got told it is quite silty
-
would you say the hook being 4 inches away from the weight is ok?
-
ofc, if I just drop the weight in the pva amongst my mix they tie it up leaving my hook line untouched. What was another suggestion i thought was maybe put on a piece of pva foam on my hook so it stays boyant and that should do it?
-
just going to attempt in now should i place the tungsten in a bowl of boiling hot water but keep the ends out to keep the inside dry and hopefully it will expand?
-
thanks alot mate! thats just what i was looking for
-
Right guys i bought myself a few things at the local tackle store and got some bits and bobs sorted. The water im planning on fishing is pretty silty and opten for the chod rig. im using a cell pop up and was wondering if i should use a pva bag with some crushed boilies and mixed pellets or would that ruin the presentation of the bait? also im using tungsten tubing and was wondering whats the best way to get the line through as its a [censored]. put it in a bowl of boiling water that helped alot but seems to get stuck somewhere about the tubing could someone please suggest another way! thanks guys!

I have finally decided that I want a go fishing aldeby hall. I was hoping you experienced anglers could hopefully guide me into the right direction and if your nice hopefully give us some guidelines on what methods, baits & spots work best on Aldeby. I heard otter water is the most productive water there i may be wrong just what I have heard . Also I'm wondering how it's fishing at the minute if it's possible. Thanks very much guys!

Carp Venues Within Suffolk/Norfolk?
carpling replied to carpling's topic in UK Venues and Where to Fish
thankyou very much, salokcinnodrog! want to to go fishing but doing some heavy research on waters round the area and once i do finally choose one i will stick to it -
Iv'e been looking at many websites of carp fisheries you suggested I came up with 7 waters which I was interested in and I was wondering if you could guide me on what water you suggest i should fish. I'm looking for a waters thats fishing well at the minute and have a good chance of beating my PB. My PB is not very big at just over 10lbs and I often fish at field farm fishery and always fish on the top with bread and stalk, I fish on the top on most waters as I enjoy it! If not on occasions I tend to fish on the bottom with the bleepers. Just a bit of information about my self as you experienced anglers could hopefully guide me into the right direction and if your nice hopefully give us some guidelines on what methods, baits & spots work best on certain waters. I narrowed it down a bit, i normally fish field farm fishery in wrentham, i want to try out a new water as I'm adamant in beating my PB! I will be fishing on daytickets for now - marsh trail - aldeby hall - weybread - Burgh Castle Fishery - Reydon Pits - Hall Farm - Waveny Valley Lakes All input is much appreciated, thanks guys!! I'm not after any venues that are acres big unless you can help me with good spots etc For anybody else that is interested here are some of their websites: www.waveneyvalleylakes.com www.burghcastlefisherieslakes.webs.com http://www.onesuffolk.co.uk/NR/exeres/971F1FA2-CDD2-49D6-BA7F-03D5F4E984F4.htm

Where to fish? - Suffolk/Norfolk
carpling replied to carpling's topic in UK Venues and Where to Fish
funny you said that i looked at that, looked very interesting until is said that your not aloud to float/surface fish there. don't get me wrong looks like a right cracker of a water but going fishing with family tomoz, they probs will want to float or surface fish. further looking into it it says u need a "42" landing net and unhooking mat. most of my gear is back home. i saw the main lake had a few 30's and lots of 20's. but thats where you need all this equipment. saw kingfisher lake has carp upto 18lb i think? but saying at 18lb there would not be as many doubles figures as there is in the main lake. thanks very much for your input much though mate, much appreciated!
