  3. Cheers Baz for the update, glad to hear some Cats have been out, might fish Nelsons if Pats is stacked out, i'm looking forward to it.
  4. Cheers, i am planning to mainly target Cats so would love to know if any are getting caught, good luck for your own fishing there.
  5. I look forward to hearing how it goes, i am there myself for a week in 2 weeks time.
  6. Well done lovely fishi was thinking of visiting but booked elsewhere now, will be pleased if I get a result like that. Will probably head there at some point.
  7. I had a look around the guy couldn't have been more helpful and let me walk round freely, I was a little disappointed with the size of marsh lake but I am toying with booking a week in May as it seems a nice place to take the misses and little one for a break while I squeeze in some fishing. I would be interested to know what the caravans are like from anyone who has stayed in one.
  8. That's great news, I love cats, and Swangey is a cracking place to catch them. You never know what to believe. I had heard they had all gone, also that they had been just thinned out, also the place had been electro-fished and all cats up to 50lb had been removed. You never know whats truth, and what is put out there to keep the non locals off the water. Anyway I will be back.
  9. Theres some cracking crucians in the coarse lake had several over 3lb on a family holiday there a few years back, fishing corn on the waggler right in the margins, also some good tench to 6lb and Rudd too, didnt fish the main lake as it was a family hol, car was full off holiday stuff! Just a coarse rod a net and a few bits with me.
  10. I have fished this lake a fair bit since before it opened to the public, the vast majority of carp I have caught there have been caught in the margins, some pegs have been much better than others, I have had some fish away from the margins but comparatively few bearing in mind I allways have 1 rod out over a baited area. It can be quite snaggy in the margins with tree roots etc so be careful, the fish fight well in there but are mainly 10-16lb, 20s are thin on the ground indeed but do exist. It doesn't fish well when busy.
  11. I had a cat off the cabin lake on my 1st visit there, it weighed 24lb and came from the bay just past the log cabin, not deadmans the one between the cabin and the island it was 6 years ago and came out on a mainline NRG boilie intended for carp.
