have you tried triggalink with a short bit of braid at the end.

i would go for a dark green braid as it blends in with natural food. and the flourocarbon willbe invisible unless fishing really shallow water or margins when the sun is blazing

last time i fished the monument i had success on a length of esp leadcore, followed by a standard knotless knot silkworm rig about "5 inches long. also i find korda iq stifflink to be one of the best stiff links around.ideal for pop ups 2 inches off the bottom with a flouro.

i know of a few pools in kent but am not sure how far from bromley they are.there are the daiwa lakes called goldvalley and a group of pools called manor farm fisheries which have carp to 30lb+
