This is what i was thinking would this be classified as a safe rig if not how could i make it so ??

Brian, think you need some sleep mate! :lol: I think he was meaning to use it Beachcaster style, anchored to the bottom so it doesn't move. Although I could be wrong yup this is correct would it work if i set it up similar to a marker float and releasing line untill the rig is sat on the surface and what i was thinking is the mainline goes through the boom and then is attached to a swivel rig tubing is then passed over the swivel and then pushed onto the end of the boom so if a fish takes the bait and pulls the tubing of the boom which then allows the suspender rig running free on the mainline and in the event of a crack off the fish would not be towing the rig around only a 6 - 8 inch hooklength any help and suggestions greatly appreciated

thanks for the info and images carpingod150 i know that the one you supplied the image for is the weighted version but rather than weighing mine i was going to use a lead anchored on the bottom and obviously i am wanting the rig to be safe for fish how would i incorporate a safety rig using this set up ?

Hi guys i am trying to make my own suspender rig very similar to the gardener type i have seen on the web does anyone have any close up pics of the relevant rig so i can sort out the finer points of it ! also how would the best way of setting this up so as to make it a safe rig etc thanks in advance

if it results in a pb carp then the little extra time gluing a few maggots on a cork ball seems a little insignificant besides what else do you have to whilst waiting for a run ? carp fishing is all about bait presentation and long waits followed by a few minutes frantic activity

anyone tried supergluing maggont onto a popup cork ball then just using a baitneedle to put the maggot covered ball onto the hair rig ?

thanks mate any info is of help that is the info i have though at the moment i was wondering if anyone had fished i more recent and if baits and tactics had moved on or are they pretty much a banker and its just down to presentation etc ? also does anyone know if the fish have spawned yet ? it would be just my bloody luck to get there and they are spawning for 2 days
