Cheers fellow carpers the information you have given me, I am so glad for your advice as I was actually thinking of between 18 & 24 inches, similar to that of the term 'laying on'. My only excuse for thinking in that direction can only be down to many many years of couse match fishing and clearly not enough time Carping. I am new to carp fishing, recently a converted match course fisherman. I am shortly going on a 48hr session on Lakeside fisheries and I am unsure as to what length my hooklength should be from the swivel to the hook. Your assistance with this problem would be gratefully appreciated Cheers Keith.
