Hello I wanted some information please if any one can help.I have decided to go back after some 20 years to Cassien, i fished it in 88 and 89. I know the rules have changed could any one tell me when the night ban gets lifted. Im planning to go down in October. Also i heard you cant drop rigs from boats is this still the case. The old bill down there hated the english is this still the case, Can u park your car safley in chez pierres and leave it there for 2 weeks, How much are the peche tickets now?. any other info would be most appreciated i fell in love with it back then and said to myself one day il go back then place is just magical or was i hope this is still the case. i Have herd alot of nagatives about Cassien over the last couple of years but i want to go back its were my coninental adventures began all them years ago. Hello mate sorry bin so busy with work. never had a very good trip mate due to weather we had every thing rain snow and alot of frosts. we lost 8 degrees in water temp in 3 days and that made it hard very hard fishing. i ended up with 12 fish biggest was 37.The second week i had to come home early my little girl was taken into hospital.the boys from cornwall done ok they had a 40 but it wasnt switched on like normal this was due to the weather and wrong bait for the water temp.Spoke to ron again thou and now it is fishing its socks off.Im back out on sept 20th let me know how you get on mate

SOUNDS LIKE YOUR IN 1 AND 2 WERE THE OLD RIVER FLOWS IN TO THE LAKE.IT IS THE BEST SWIMS ON THE COMPLEX MANY A BIG FISH HAS GRACED THE BANKS THERE YOU MUST HAVE BOOKED EARLY TO GET ON THERE.WELL DONE FELLA I FISHED IT LAST OCTOBER FOR 3 DAYS BUT WE HAD SUM REALY COLD NITES -8 THAT KILLED THE FISHING. I MOVED OUT TO SWIM 11 TO GET INTO DEEPER WATER BUT IT AINT LIKE ENGLAND 2 DAYS LATER MY MATE IAN MOVED IN THERE AND HAD A 39LB COMMON STRAIGHT AWAY, THATS FISHING 4 U THOU.I WOULDNT BEGRUDGE ANY ONE A FISH IT WAS JUST NICE TO SEE SOME ONE HAVING ACTION. THE FRENCH CARP TEND TO DO THIS IN THE WINTER, IN ENGLAND I WOULD GO TO DEEPER WATER BUT OVER THERE RON TOLD ME WHEN I MOVED TO SIT IT OUT BUT I NEVER LISTENED LIKE AN IDIOT.THIS IS WHY I HAVE SAID LISTEN TO RON HE KNOWS THE PLACE BETTER THAN ANY ONE HIS JUST ONE AWESOME BLOKE

No probs mate wil do.I forgot to say swim 11 there is a big set of pads about 70 yards out to your right apart from that open water.Gravel patches you just got to find em.you are at the deepest end of the lake thou this end of the lake has the slouse to drain the lake lots of silt.Il let you know how we get on im still toying with the idea of the platform i was talking about on my 2nd week i just cant make my mind up we will see thou!!!

SORRY MATE BIN WORK JUST GOT IN 4 A COUPLE OF HOURS.I RECKON WHEN THAT LAKE IS PACKED THEM FISH ARE GOING TO GET AWAY FROM ANGLERS BAITS AND LINES.ONE OF THE PLATFORMS OPPOSITE SWIM 16 IS NEW LAST YEAR I WANT TO FISH BUT BECAUSE OF MY BOYS I CANT YOU HAVE GOT ENUF ROOM ON THEM FOR A BIVVY AND 4 RODS.bUT THE WATER THIS SWIM COVERS NO ONE ELSE ON THE LAKE CAN TOUCH YOU MUST HAVE 20 ACRES TO YOUR SELF.RON PUT IT IN LAST YEAR AND NO ONE HAS FISHED IT YET IM ITCHING TO GET ON THERE MY SELF BUT I CANT LIKE I SAID.SWIM 16 IS MY FAVOURITE SWIM IM IN THE THE FIST WEEK OF THE SEASON ITS AWESOME PADS EVERY WERE A RITE HORNEY SWIM LOOKS SO CARPY.IN THIS SWIN YOU GOT ABOUT 50 YARDS TO THE PADS AND GRAVEL WHEN THE FISH START BOSHING IN THE NIGHT ITS WIKID I HAVE SPENT SO MANY NITES IN THAT SWIM JUST LOOKING AT THE WATER ALL NITE LONG YOU GOT TO EXPERIANCE IT TO KNOW WOT I AM TALKING ABOUT.AS FOR BAIT BOATS YOU DONT NEED EM MATE YOU GOT A ROWING BOAT SO TAKE IT FROM ME YOU CAN DO IT FROM THAT IF YOU KNOW WOT I MEAN.BE FOR I HAD KIDS I WENT TO CASSIEN AND HOLLAND.YEAR BE FOR LAST WENT OUT TO THE EBRO HAD CATS TO 170LB.BUT THIS PLACE JUST BLEW ME AWAY 4 ME ITS PERFECT BACAUSE OF MY BOYS ISOLATED AND QUIET AND I CAN TEACH THEM HOW TO CATCH CARP WITH OUT PEOPLE WATCHING THEM AND IF THEY MAKE A MISTAKE AND OVER CAST NO ONE WILL GET NASTY BOUT CASTING IN TO THERE SWIM ETC FOR ME ITS PERFECT. Hello Alan.I fish castle lakes every year mate.Swim 11 is on the foot path side of the lake.Are you going on your own?.The thing were alot of anglers go wrong is bait.You need lots of bait.On a normal week i would take 60 kilo of boilies 75 kilo of pellets and 50 kilo of party blend. Tiger nuts are awesome you have to ask bruce if it is ok then take them out there dry and ron will prepare them for you.Listen to ron he will help you on any thing and every thing.If you are going on your own then i would go and fish one of the platforms that ron has made.You are isolated thou but if you are going for a serios weeks fishing go on the platforms.Or f you want a social session with your mates then stay on the swim you have booked.The size of boilies 24mm i take tails up pro fish ash hand rolls em for me good bait and a fair price.Im back out there on the 4th april for 2 weeks il let you know how me and my sons get on.We love the place.we had fish to 47lb and loads of 30s to 38lb loads of twentys etc etc. The fishing isnt hard big baits air dried cause of the chats thou ron has taken tons out over the last year.Strong hooks mate i use fox size 4 series 2 xs.If you want any more info just ask mate here to help on this place.If you go on there website look under commendations you can see my 47 im the bold geezer with the tails up t shirt on.There are sum big fish in there mate that aint been caught ive lost sum lumps cause of hooks but i have addressed that problem now thanks to Ron.Good luck mate and i hope this helps il let you know how we get on in 6 weeks time when we get back.

I have been to castle lakes twice now! i wated to find some were to take my sons in France to get them a little bit of french fishing under there belts before i take them to the public waters i have fished on my own.Fishing in France isnt easy! i have fished Cassien back in the 80s 5 or 6 times and lost alot of fish because we didnt have the gear then that we have now.I banked a few to 20 kilo but that was it i was pleased at the time.I got married and gave up for about ten years!My boys are 12 and 14 now and i started again when they said dad we want to go fishing! MUSIC TO WY EARS! Any way we started again got a year or 2 under there belts and went to Castle lakes last year twice. First trip was in May i took my youngest boy jamie for a week Matthew my eldest never fancied it.We done blinding i had 32 fish to 47lb including 4, 30s to 36, and jamie had 22 fish to 36lb and this was a common incuding another 34 and loads of twentys.He lost alot of fish but thats got to be expected at his age.The second trip was the last week of the season last October,Matthew came this time and we had 30lb fish each and a few twentys.At the start of this week the tempreture drop to minus 8 and killed it.If your looking for a venue to have a go at then give em ago.Ron annd Janet are fantastic people and they will look after you big time they did us when our car broke down were going back on the 4th April for 2 weeks if any one is going down there were on swim 16 for the first week and swim 6 on the 2nd week come and say hello and il put the kettle on.Ian if you read this give me a reply mate ive lost your number.
