    CLEAR HOOKS

I'd probably use them floater fishing and maybe on zigs put im not sure its necessary. Surely they would be pointless with bottom baits anyway considering debris etc covering the hook anyway..
  2. I can back that on hydrolink its good stuff, struggled having confidence in it at first because i was used to using kryston (swapped to korda for 6 months and i now have nightmares about it so im not too confident when it comes to choosing hooklinks other than kryston now)
  3. Well they both have the same surname so i would presume they are married LMAO .. deary me
  4. You can also press a section of lead wire into a pop up.. There was an article on critically balanced baits in crafty carper a few months back.
  5. No 4 for me too, greased down silkworm does the job
  6. ive found greased down silkworm works a treat too, worked for me all through last year, i use about 4-5 foot of this with the last foot or so completely coloured in with a black marker pen, straight through to a TFG missile.

    Litter

Its not immensley difficult to have a look around your swim before you leave mate.. so in reality, you have purposely left litter..

    Rig lengths

same, i'll say average so i can see the results but short could mean 2 inches to one person and 5 to another.. it will be interesting to see other peoples views though.
  10. the new rig marole stuff is brilliant, i had a length to test in which i tied 3 rigs all to superb quality, got 20 metres on the way as we speak =D
  11. i would agree with that but i found it was quite hard to strip back the coating squeeze as hard as you can on the braid with some pliers and pull the coating off, on kryston coateds this doesnt work as the inner braid frays, but it works fine with the hybrid..
  12. The hook point can turn much more effectively if the shrink tubing has been 'shrunk' at the right kind of angle. I've not been using shrink tubing since summer though and ive not noticed any dramatic effects, banked every fish that has cared to grace my kordas so... maybe your right...
  13. Have to agree mate, an awesome hooklink to have in your tackle box, i have the weedy green and gravel brown in 20lb and catch regularly on them both.. Less fish seem to eject my hook as they did with strip-teaze.. which means its clearly better suited to my rigs.
  14. Wide gapes, theyve never failed me! fox hooks dissapoint me, i tested one after a thread on here and it bent under half the pressure i put on the wide gape.

    bolt rig

the bolt rig helps the hook set when a carp picks up your bait, which can lead to massive reel screeching runs, you need to make sure you have the right equipment to make a suitable, safe set up though. a lot of companies sell full bolt rig setups in one pack with instructions, this will be a good place to start.
  16. to tie the rig do everything you normally would on a knotless rig, instead of tying a standard knotless knot whip around the shank 5 times and then hold the hair at a 90 degree angle from the shank of the hook, continue to whip around a further 5 times and pass through the eye of the hook, very simple realy.
  17. i have posted a picture in the pop ups thread mate, it is a method i am yet too of tried hoping it will pay off in the summer though.

    Pop ups

dont use pop ups very often, do find it hard to trust bait floss though, dont know why just always got the feelin it could come lose.

    Pop ups

when a hookbait is on the hair it will be cast 90 degrees from the shank of the hook, this means that the hook is less detectable secondly due to the hook pointing downwards it will neatly catch the bottom lip of the carp as it exits the mouth, maximising hooking effect

    Pop ups

there is a different knotless rig i have learnt that is for bottom baits but i feel that it would be well worth a try with a pop up, if i can get a picture i will post it, very easy to tie.
  21. thanks m8
