  1. Old post but may be helpful to anyone thinking of fishing stretham. Beautiful lake, 2.5 acres.can get busy so your best arriving early. Wont lie, it's a blooming challenging water.i was there yesterday & spent quite a lot of time on the water past year.i have a running joke with the baliff that I've had most of the big bream out of there in hunt for the carp.the carp tend to come on late so will have to do a night to get the most from the water.parking is interesting!you will see what I mean if you visit.roughly 18 rods in the water yesterday & one fish came out.was a 30 though.the big ones (40s)tend to come out around October time.i was informed the biggest was 44 last time she came out.certainly a lovely place to be & not by any means easy you really have to put the hours in
  2. Evening all. Newbie post here so go easy πŸ€— I'm currently using greys prodigy 1.75 rods with baitrunner dl reels. I can't get used to stiff action carp rods and I fish predominantly on 2-3 acre carp lakes so casting g huge distances isn't an issue. The greys have handled fish upto 26 pounds & served me for countless trips and 2 pilgrimages to redmire (blanks I must admit but that's not the point is itπŸ˜‚)and am delighted with them but feel a slightly beefier pair of rods is on horizon. I'm attracted to the torrix 2 pound specialist rods. Has anyone had any experience of them? Thanks
