MRVIIX Posted April 22 Report Posted April 22 Looking on going for 3 night session this Friday trying to find out if the weather gonna be OK my weather app isn't great but is saying precipitating down Saturday SundayΒ I don't wanna get wet π«Β Quote
salokcinnodrog Posted April 23 Report Posted April 23 I use Metoffice on my phone as well as the app installed by Samsung as well as checking BBC regularly. All 3 are giving wet weather for at least one day this weekend. Β I've noticed that forecasts are changing regularly, I can check for 2 or 3 days ahead, then 24 hours later get a totally different forecast. Β kevtaylor 1 Quote
Higham1987 Posted April 23 Report Posted April 23 Yr.no is a Norwegian weather App, but look for your location and translate to English, just as good as any other π yonny 1 Quote

I believe Met Office invite civilians to submit data from their personal weather stations to add to the data set. No idea if it makes a difference or not. I've used all sorts over the years but now just go by the BBC. Let's face it, the weather here can change at the drop of a hat so no-one can really have massive confidence in the longer range data. kevtaylor, Higham1987 and salokcinnodrog 3 Quote

I'm honestly finding Met Office totally different to the BBC, can't understand why, MET Office saying next to no rain this week, BBC says raining daily.Β MET Office is the one thats proving to be more accurate at the moment, or it has been on my trips so far, strange! Unless my data for BBC is not refreshing from when I looked days before? Edited April 23 by kevtaylor Higham1987 and yonny 2 Quote
emmcee Posted April 23 Report Posted April 23 Xc weather or "Windy app". But as has been said, the weather can change at the drop of a hat so none are 100% accurate in my opinion.Β Β kevtaylor and jh92 2 Quote

salokcinnodrog Posted September 21 Report Posted September 21 So I have to laugh at the BBC weather forecasts on television and on the apps as they have been found to be least correct, often overestimating wind and rain. Personally I use MetOffice and Accuweather most often, and that has changed a bit over the years as I realised how bad Carol Kirkwood and the BBC were getting. Not mentioned is that local ITV (in my case Anglia) seems to predict the weather closer to actual happenings. crusian 1 Quote

InteraX Posted September 21 Report Posted September 21 The BBC forecast went horribly wrong when they changed from using the met office to some commercial organisation. TBH, I've almost given up with BBC. I was a staunch supporter until fairly recently, but they seem irrelevant to me now and more so as time goes on. I've been using AccuWeather for years and it seems to be fairly reliable. What is interesting is their rain forecaster which tells you when rain is due to start/stop. It was almost spot on yesterday. salokcinnodrog and crusian 2 Quote
