ouchthathurt
Clues in the title really, when I was younger and just starting out, some bits of kit I would have given a kidney for: fox mini micron alarms, Steve neville alarms, shimano 6010 baitrunners, solar sod pod and the century big Bertha spod rod, (any century rods really) I actually saw one in the flesh the other day and offered to buy it! What kit did you crave from years ago, that have vanished now? jh92
Carpbell_ll
a set of custom built ballistas, gravel eater banksticks and swan neck bars, can still get them the rods are too pricey and the gravel eaters would look out of place on most waters. carp angling is not like it used to be to be diplomatic. i do like to avoid crowds when angling i'm good with two or three anglers on a five-six acer water and would love my own lake or a proper syndicate membership as in you all pony up for the lease. i'm on the verge of going back to general course fishing join all the other mid week duffers on day ticket waters waggler fishing. 🥸 jh92 and barry211
jh92
When I was a kid my dad took me to our local tackle shop to get my first matching set of 12ft fox warrior rods, I remember seeing a fox bonsai ig rod and thought I'd love to own one of them. A few years later I seen one for sale on ebay second hand, ended up buying it. Still haven't used it 😂😂 A couple others were Nash titan Bivvy Steve Neville alarms Microcat bait boat Fox x pod I can also remember a few of the stainless steel solar pods hanging from the ceiling of the shop wishing I could have them 😂
InteraX
The only thing I can think of want and seeing around when I was a kid was the phonic bite alarms. I had a float rod and occasionally dad would let me borrow a ledger rod but we used monkey climbers. Bite alarms seemed a bit like a sci-fi future item.... elmoputney
I dreamt of optonics for a long time before I bought some, I used to work with my dad in Bedford as a Saturday boy and used to go to the fishing shops every Saturday and dribble at all the stuff, it was either that or the ticket shop that had rave tapes and flyers anyway, but yeah optonics, and gold daiwa emblems, I really wanted some of those for a long time, I did always love a bennetts of Sheffield catalogue aswell, I reckon there must have been loads of set ups and tackle I wanted from them over the years, it was like the bible ha ha
newmarket
Going back further than most I’d say but when I was a kid it was always a dream of mine to own a Mitchell reel . They was always considered to be the pinnacle . First weeks wages after leaving school ? Mitchell 300 closely followed by a Mitchell match if memory serves . Not sure if either helped me catch more fish than my trusty Intrepid Black Prince though 😂
