Spooling new Reels

Awsome....the warm water i thought....overnight....also heard of people taking lake water back home as it is a different level of filter to tap water and may damage the line...

Want to do it propper as i dont intend on chamging reels for a while now and are happy with 90% of what i have now 😁😁

Not heard of that one buddy.

You can add a little washing-up liquid if you choose, it lubricates the line making for better casting properties. I've not tried it myself (don't want my line smelling of soap lol).

P.s. fluoro doesn't require soaking, just mono.

A couple of minutes before I put it on the reel.

 

Mono takes on a bit of water, so can expand if left to soak. If you put it on the reel after soaking as it dries it can tighten and  shrink away from the spool lip, leaving the spool underfilled.
